Question for high masking autistic people:
How long does it usually take you to unmask with a friend. Because I've been friends with this person for 3 years, and have only started unmasking around them, but when I became friends with an autistic person I unmasked straight away, and I've always felt that I never have to mask around them. But I feel bad for my other friend because I don't want them to think I'm different around them.
Does anyone else (autistic) get this chest-ache (?) whenever they think about their hyperfixiations and everything gets so overwhelming and you start feeling bad because you realize they don't exist irl and it just pains you so much? /gen 😭

Really wanna get some soundproof headphones. Been using earbuds just to cut the sound a notch, but I'd like something a bit chonkier. Just cus the tv is so loud and I can't turn it down rn.
I have a hard time with audio processing but my response is to actually just turn the sound down and read the subtitles. That or headphones. But im living with someone whose actually half deaf and he turns the sound on the way high. To the point it actually hurts my ears
For people with hearing sensitity problems do these help you from getting too overstimulated?

That feeling when you don't what's going on or what's being said in a foreign language class, but you're also autistic and already miss social cues anyways.
