there's something real funny about WB seeing the unmitigated disaster that was the Crystal Dynamics Avengers game, a critical and commercial failure which has flashes of brilliance buried deep within janky systems, boring levels and gameplay, and an obvious prioritization of pricy "macrotransactions" over meaningful improvements, all of which contributed to the gutting of the studio that worked on it... and then went "yeah we want a piece of that pie. get rocksteady on the phone, we're gonna twinkify the joker"
