it is so important to me that bug/insect alterhumans post about their experiences
especially since bug/insect alterhumans are so often bullied into hiding, like I was.
please please let those kids feel seen before they repress a part of themselves that is so beautiful and important
I need more silly bug friends :(
Hello. Pictures of me
Probably will change. I am an odd complex being
"enjoying your treats, my little cuddle-bug?"

As a beetlekin (and a person who just really likes insects), this is really infuriating and sad how normalized hatred and fear towards bugs and beetles are.
Why do I have to censor my appearance and see other people do it as well? Why do my FRIENDS kill bugs and tell me about that as if it were a normal, even respectable thing to do? Why the FUCK should we put a “trigger warning” on bugs, just because some people are afraid of them? How about you put trigger warning on your cat then next time, you asshole, just because SOME PEOPLE are afraid of cats.
This is so tiring. Bugs I love you. They could never make me hate you bugs

Hello! Call me Paws or Zeke. 24 y/o 🏳️⚧️ he/him therian, bug guy, & illustrator.
This will be a space to organize and collect my therian thoughts, or post from a therian lens. Also to post my therian related art or self portraits. Relatively new to this so please feel free to correct my terminology!
Primary types:
What informs my self-conception, how I picture myself.
Bernese Mountain Dog — the only mammal.
Rex Rhino Beetle — Megasoma rex (see bottom right), and others in the Megasoma genus, as well as general subfamily Dynastinae, rhino beetles. Sometimes anthros, like Heracross. Image from Wikipedia
Wingless dragon, or drake — I created a species sheet to represent what I had in my head, but it ended up diverging quite far and needs another pass. Placeholder photo by KreativWerk on Maker World. Also consider — Monster Hunter’s Deviljho, Nergigante, Odogaron, Radobaan as ballpark examples.
Secondary types / “hearted”:
What I identify with or am drawn to, but don’t necessarily picture myself as.
Saltwater Crocodile — the species of my fursona. Photo from Wikipedia
Velociraptor — how I used to conceptualize myself as a kid, but too birdlike for my current identity. Also consider Microraptor, Compsognathus, Archaeopteryx. Image found on article from Creative Beast Studio, illustrator unclear.
Thresher Shark — just think they’re sweet. Image from TKSST
