You know those tumblr posts that look prophetic a few years down the line? Well, I got a big one here. It is 100% guaranteed that at least one capitol insurrectionist is going to be a congressman someday. Maybe even a senator.
They'll be sentenced to a few years in prison but will get out after a few months on "good behavior," after which they'll go on Fox News and be hailed as heroes by right-wing nutjobs. They'll receive mega-donations and expensive PR teams and handlers who will put them in suits and give them cue cards, and they'll run in safe far-right districts in which they don't even live yet, but they'll move there specifically for the election. See, if it was a competitive district then the Democrats would come out in droves to ensure they lose, but if it's a solid red district they'll absolutely win because Republicans WANT them in office. The vast majority of Republicans don't think they did anything wrong, they support the insurrection wholeheartedly. They would win the primaries without a challenge.
This is written in stone. I've never felt more confident in a prediction. Call this a straw man argument or a slippery slope fallacy or whatever you want, but I know for a fact that if given the opportunity, Republicans would not hesitate to put these criminals in the very seats of power they sought to overthrow. They'll brag about it, they'll raise millions of dollars because of it, and they'll take before and after photos of them breaching the building on January 6, 2021 and being sworn in on January 3, 2027.
I've made myself mad. They live in my brain rent free, and someday they'll be the ones writing laws that strip my family of their rights.
God, I hope I'm wrong.

Just started watching Lucifer for the first time and I'm only on the second episode, but I can already tell my favorite running gag is how exasperated Lucifer gets when no one believes him when he outright tells him he is the literal Devil.
"It's not a secret if I am outright telling you what it is!" is a line that will live with me for quite a while.
The Blorgons have tried (at least) twice to convince people that they are there to serve their new ‘masters’.
Naturally, nobody believes the Inspector that the Blorgons are actually the most dangerous creatures in the universe … until it’s too late.
Movie Review: The Snorkel
Movie Review: The Snorkel (1958) directed by Guy Green Paul Decker (Peter van Eyck) has gotten away with murder before. Years ago, he murdered his wealthy friend Mr. Brown by drowning him in a boating “accident” so that he could marry the widow and her considerable inheritance, including an Italian villa near the French border. Now Mrs. Decker has outlived her attractiveness and usefulness to…
