Once again, Nintendo does not own the art style they used for Breath of the Wild. That is an art style that has been used by developes for decades. It gets annoying when people's go-to reaction for any game non-BotW that uses cel-shading is, "Uh, that's a rip-off of Breath of the Wild". Uh, no it's not. Plenty of games have had the art style for 25 years. This is nothing new. Breath of the Wild did nothing new but uses an art-style that's been around for a long time.
By that logic, does that mean Jet Set Radio is a rip-off? PaRappa the Rapper perhaps? How about any video game adaptation of an anime that's released over the past 20 years? Oh, so that means Gravity Rush is a rip-off too? How about Sly Cooper? Viewtiful Joe? Oh wait, what about Astral Chain? No? You see how ridiculous that sounds?
Mind you, these are mostly Nintendo fans that think Breath of the Wild is some sort of golden standard. It's not. It's widely popular Zelda game. Not particularly shocking either. And another thing, no company owns a specific type of gameplay style either. If that was the case, most of the games that have existed over the past 50 years wouldn't exist.
So, if a game has similar play styles and mechanics as Breath of the Wild or any other game, then it's just that they're similar or the developers were capitalizing off of something that by all accounts isn't as unique as people think it is. Breath of the Wild is not special. Good game. Deserves all the praise it got. Not special by any means though.
