Because of the malleable nature of the comic canon, someone who hasn't read DC in years can have an equally or more inaccurate idea of current canon than someone who started a few years ago and mainly read current comics.

Yet the former is deemed more acceptable by lot of comic readers. Hmm.

Well...we finally made it everyone...

All issues of WTWA are now (FINALLY) on AO3!!!

It's been a several years in the making but WTWA finally has one home for all the issues. I couldn't imagine when I started this that it would take this long. And, after having WTWA removed from Tapas, I've definitely had to work through a lot of negative emotions while making this move.

But it really was all worth it. To have WTWA safe and in an accepting, fan creation environment means so much.

And, to kick off this major move, I want to gift you all with TWO things.

First, a brand new issue of WTWA has been updated with the move - Issue #255.

It's been over a year since our last update so ya'll DESERVE this one.

And second, as you can see above, we have a new comic trailer!

I feel like this new trailer really gives a great flavor of both past, present, and future WTWA. I've been working on it for way too long, so I hope you enjoy it. Please feel free to message/reply with any theories. 👀

For those who want to see where the comics stand on the ages of Captain America - Steve Rogers, and Bucky Barnes, Marvel Database is a good place to start.

Earth 616 Steve Rogers was born in September of 1922 (https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Captain_America_Vol_11_7.)

He got the serum in 1940, making him about 18-19. He met Bucky in either late 1940 or early 1941, as they took on saboteurs and fifth columnists in America prior to the nation's entry into WWII.

Bucky is about 3-4 years younger than Steve.

Keep in mind, comic book writers are notorious for fudging the numbers! Marvel Database is trying to tie things together, but it's not perfect.

how can u just not consider an entire comic run canon just because u dont like it? u cant just pick and choose what you think of as canon in the comics. like yeah red hood and the outlaws has so problems but it is canon and u shouldnt ignore that just because u think its bad

no offense at all - I hope this doesn't come off as rude - but I absolutely CAN just pick and choose what comics I want to consider my own personal canon.

comics, by nature, are convoluted and contradictory to the point where it's impossible to consider every single run/story/plot/characterization/etc as canon. If everything is canon, nothing is canon. these comics have decades worth of history and myriad of writers/artists/editor/etc that don't always line up perfectly with each other so it is quite literally impossible (for me personally at least) to consider everything canon.

for example, I talked a bit in this post about how Dick stopped being Robin and how Jason got the mantel. pre-Crisis on Infinite Earths, Dick quit being Robin of his own free will and gave Jason permission to use the name and costume. in post-Crisis, Bruce fired Dick and let Jason be Robin without consulting Dick about it. I much prefer the pre-Crisis version because it makes these three characters' relationships much more stable and healthier than the post-Crisis version (while I do like some Drama in the batfamily, I prefer it when they generally get along). so in my own version of canon, Dick decides for himself not to be Robin anymore and willingly gives Jason the mantel; Bruce has no real say in the matter. (I do still consider Jason's backstory in Second Chances - the story line where post-Crisis Jason becomes Robin after Dick is fired- as canon, instead of his original origin as a circus acrobat.) so I kind of combine the two versions a little bit for my own canon. I hope that made sense.

I can't and won't speak for everyone but I'm pretty sure most comic readers do have their own personal views as to what comics they see as canon to them.
