"Superman was the Barbie movie for boys"

That was my first thought after seeing the new Superman movie, and I'm here to explain that.

Besides the fact that women and men identify strongly with these two movies, there are genuine similarities in the movies themselves.

First of all, they are both based on characters people grew up loving. This has been shown as a trend where people say something along the lines of "I'm not watching this movie, they are" with a picture of their child self. They both cater to people's inner child, making them connect more with the themes and messages of both movies.

Both teach their audiences that being human is something special, and something beautiful. Barbie does this through the beauty of aging, while Superman does this through showing that having feelings isn't a bad thing.

They both had a heart melting montage toward the end showing the beauty of being human.

Both characters ultimately need to figure out who they are without the idea of who they should be clouding their ability to do so.

And lastly, both movies were absolutely fantastic.

Catwoman & Penguin threatening each other pets (Oswald Copplepot's bird and Selina Kyle's cat) in Batman Returns (Tim Burton, 1992). Their symbolic way of doing the 69 sex position (she's eating his little birdie while he's stroking her pussycat)

The blow job ortolan scene between Will Graham and Hannibal Lecter in the beginning of Hannibal 2X11 (Kō No Mono, 2014).

The connection ? Those horny live action characters putting a bird in their mouths (dead or alive) as a thinly-veiled metaphor of oral sex.

recomposer par la peinture ce que la sculpture a perdu ; proposer cela comme un jeu mais aussi comme une réponse à la question qui à traverser l’Histoire de l’art formulée par le Paragone de Benedetto Varchi en 1546 : quel est l’art le plus noble, la peinture ou bien la sculpture ?

répondre au manque par l’enterrement l’absorption d’un vide qui malgré le doute et la fragilité forme une complétude ; lui donner alors une présence ; le perdu qui est le début d’un rêve possible, d’une résistance, d’un réel qui viendra un jour le combler

TMNT 2012 and ROTTMNT size comparison is kinda wild, because most of the brothers are more or less the same as their counterpart and then there is Rise!Raph that just went an entire foot above 2012!Raph.

It's actually kind of funny, because Spikes is also the same size as Rise!Raph and Splinter get two inches above both of them. For comparison between the two, here :
