If i'm honest, the more I look back on jwct's ending, the more disappointed/mad I feel about how it ended tbh.

Firstly, it was very ben centered, which I did NOT mind at all for the first 3 seasons because the other characters got their time to shine too sometimes! But in s4? That just completely vanished, in my opinion. Why am I upset about this? Personally, I think ben has nothing going for him. No offence to all the ben fans, but in my opinion, he just doesn't have much going on? Sammy had the whole thing about her parents, kenji's dad was mauled in front of him, yasmina had practically become a group therapist for everyone, and she also had broken up with sammy, brooklyn almost got murdered, had her arm amputated, now has ptsd with dinosaurs similar to yasmina too, and was feeling guilty over bringing the others into this too (even though that was played out pretty badly too) and then whoops! It's about the character who has significantly fewer issues than everyone else. The problems with sammys family breaking contact with her was so mysterious and hyped up just for it to be an anticlimactic mention of "oh yeah they work with biosyn now" I just feel like it was kinda lazy. Personally, s4 should have been focused around someone other than ben, like sammy!! Also, completely off track, but since ben's injury was written so well, I honestly NEED someone to rewrite sammys injury with the scorpios in jwcc. PLEASE!! Like the scorpios rex had venomous quills, and yet when sammy got the antivenom, she was basically perfectly fine aside from feeling faint and a bit of vomiting. Come on, guys. :(

Thinking about Brooklynn being Yassamy’s daughter’s favorite person besides her mamas. How she likes it whenever Aunt B holds her, and will cry and scream when Sammy takes her away for her nap. (She ends up sleeping on Brooklynn)

She also loves her Uncle Darius- he likes to read books to her and play princesses with him and Uncle Kenji

The way the show constantly highlights how abusive Daniel was to Kenji while ignoring that Brooklynn and Sammy were casually abused by their parents through intense neglect is driving me up the wall.

It took Brooklynn being presumed dead twice and losing a limb before her parents started keeping an eye on her. Before that she was posting videos about picking hotel room locks at 13, or even younger, and talking to god knows who online as a 13/14yo to 18yo.

And Sammy’s parents didn’t even know she, a 14yo girl, had left the country until she was already on the boat to Nublar. Shady people literally spoke to them about the possibility of trafficking her, and they just let her out of their sight around the time said trafficking would happen and weren’t worried about kidnapping apparently, and then they cut her out over her being right about them making a bad decision for striking up a deal with a dinosaur related company with a shady history for the third time.

Ben’s parents are on thin ice ‘cause I have a lot of mixed feelings about them. Sending your incredibly anxious teen to a camp overseas that they don’t even want to go to, especially over the winter holidays, is super, super shitty.

But at the same time, when things were going alright, Ben was, for the most part, fine. He was anxious but he adjusted quick for how nervous he initially was, Most of his struggles weren’t because he was nervous and afraid, it was because people kept messing with him and not taking him seriously, particularly Kenji, Dave, and Roxie. (How those two even got hired in the first place is beyond me.)

Ok i feel like i need to yell about the final jwct season cause it was. I. I honestly don't really know how to feel about it but right now soecifically i want to yell about the sammy/yaz stuff #spoilers under the cut

WHY DID THEY GET BACK TOGETHER. Not even that just . Why like That. This did not feel deserved they spent like a Week apart and apparently that was enough for them to go back to everything being normal. Im so mad dude they never actually worked out their issues they just spent a little time apart then got all lovey dovey again like this fixes anything.

My main issue is that they just. Never worked out their problems they never talked about Why they broke up. Yes primarily it was because of Brooklyn and her whole ordeal (sidenote i. Did not like her a lot this season which i assume was intentional) but like. Brooklyns situation wasnt like , the Sole cause guys . Did they have differing opinions Yes and, atleast the way i saw it that wasn't Why they broke up, it was because Yaz wasnt fucking listening to Sammy dude😭 She kept trying to changer her opinion on Brooklyn when that really wasnt Necessary. Sammy literally has a point like Yeah this was a shitty thing of Brooklyn to do, sure she does it for the grester good or whatever butt Yaz is actively trying to Change Her Opinion when Sammy is like. Right. Obviously theres no right or wrong in this convo Yaz was also right But there truly was no reason to try and force your opinion onto your partner.

I might just be biased because i related to Sammy a Lot and i was going thru something kind of ? Similar when s3 dropped but this conflict was what made the breakup interesting and i honestly wish they didn't get back together (something something not every relationship has to work out and thats Fine) Or atleast not like This dude. None of the above that i just talked about was mentioned at all. The show acted like Brooklyn was the Only reason they broke up when it really wasnt and its #pissing me the fuck off

This season was so tiring and kind of a dissapointing end to a show ive been following for so long and held so close to my heart RIP Sammy Guiterrez you shouldve stayed single

Just thought I would add to the Sammy Trauma a little.

Spoilers below for season 4.

In the episode “Give and Take” the Camp Fam are in a car that a Quetzalcoatlus picks up and flies off with. It ultimately drops them, and they land between two treetops that are keeping them from falling. 

Everyone is rightfully terrified, and after Kenji gets on the roof, Brooklyn says “I guess there are worse people to be stuck in a tree with than Climbing Man Kenj.”

And Sammy snaps at her, asking her if she thinks this is funny. “We could plunge to our deaths any second!”

Now the main way I think people see this scene is as Sammy snapping at Brooklyn because she is still mad at her, and Brooklyn making that comment was the tipping point.

And I do agree with that, but there is also another reason for Sammy to be so terrified: Way back in Camp Cretaceous Season 3 Episode 9 “Whatever It Takes” Sammy, Ben and Kenji get in a helicopter and the pilot leaves the others behind. The chopper is attacked by Pteranodons, and then crashes and gets stuck in a tree. It is also heavily implied that the pilot died in the crash. 

(I also know that they crashed because they were about to hit a Brachiosaurus and she dodged so they wouldn’t hit it, but my point still stands).

So this is the second time Sammy has gotten trapped in a tree, in a vehicle because of Pterosaurs. And the details are very similar, right down to Kenji waking up first! 

Back in Chaos Theory, Kenji gets everyone out of the car, with Sammy being last. But she accidentally turns the steering wheel, making the wheels turn and the car crash down further, making it impossible to get out the driver’s side door. She goes for the passenger side, but makes the mistake of putting her weight on the mirror, it gives and she plummets, barely catching the window. Kenji and Brooklyn help her up from there, and they get down safely.

Back in Camp, Ben manages to grab a vine, but every movement makes the chopper drop farther and farther down. They all grab the vine and jump as the chopper falls completely, crashing in a fiery explosion. One more nice detail is she was at the top of the vine, so she technically was the last one to get out of the tree, just like the car.

Not sure where to put it, but she dangled from the window just like she dangled from the vine. 

If being trapped in that car wasn’t giving her PTSD flashbacks to that night, I don’t know what will. 

I know the real reason she snapped at Brooklyn is because she’s still angry about her faking her death and it leading this situation in the first place, but I would like to think that she is also thinking about that night in the helicopter 

Also, having her, Ben and Kenji sitting together in the front seat was a nice touch since they were the ones in the helicopter.

(I expect at least 3 fanfics based on this information as payment on my desk by next week. I’d also settle for side-by-side pics, gifs and artwork. Go crazy! I know we’re all focused on Ben right now, and with very good reason for it, but there's enough trauma to go around, unfortunately).
