I hate when people go "demisexual? uhhh that's just called being NORMAL?????" because if demisexuality really were a "default setting" in humanity then:

- Porn wouldn't exist

- Prostitution wouldn't exist

- One-night stands wouldn't exist

- The entire marketing concept of "sex sells" wouldn't exist

- Celebrity crushes wouldn't exist

I'm NOT taking a high-horse stance that any of these are inherently bad, I'm just saying none of them would exist if "everyone was demisexual".

I think the reason a lot of people dislike demis is cause they think they're pretending to be 'holier than thou' and looking down on other people for not being like them.

demi-attracted culture is constantly getting told by queerphobes that "everyone is like that! I've been like that my whole life" bc they want to invalidate you. And then having to explain to those people that they're probably demi-attracted too lmao

There seems to be some confusion...

Aphobia: queerphobic prejudice against A-specs, be they Aromantics, Asexuals or Aroaces. Demiphobia is a type of aphobia.

Arophobia: aphobia aimed specifically at Aromantics.

Acephobia: aphobia aimed specifically at Asexuals.

Demiphobia: aphobia aimed specifically at Demisexuals/Demiromantics. Sadly, this springs up as much within the A-spec Community, where we should really all know better, as it does outside of the community.
