OC-Phoebe There is something to be said about the possibility of peculiar affects on physiology when it comes to making deals with fae (Cait Sith). Ask Phoebe how she knows as soon as the shock wears off. 🙀💦

Listen, I don't ask your name and pronouns to gain power over you
I just want them
I want them in my little jars
I want to wear your titles on my body
I want them in neat little lists so I can look at them
They hold so much meaning to their owners, I just want to look at your meanings guys-
I want to look at a name and go "someone loves this" and be able to love it too!
or I'll take a name you don't want and I can say I took something painful from you!
I just want them like little trinkets
so go ahead, hand em over
I've got faeries on the brain so I'm back to gently poke you to see if you feel like rambling about your fae sona I'm curious
my sona is kinda like- a mishmash of stuff that means a lot to me- he doesnt have much of a backstory other than being very old and very tired and living in cold northern forests just out of reach of man and keeps an eye on these areas. that isnt to say that they dont like humans or dont find them fascinating. they like watching them and learning about them. they just like being able to have their distance. while theyre pretty worn out, they still have their silly moments as all fae do. (they would very much like to have arthur around to stare at/talk to)
theyre very much inspired by things that are important to me- i love the winter and snow and ice and thats obvious in their design with their frost covered skin and hair and their icy antlers. their antlers radiate a soft cool light. the antlers are obvious in reference to my love for deer but they also have claws and fangs and a lion-like tail and catlike eyes because i really like cats of all types fhsjkdhkjhsd sometimes they have large bird wings i guess hes just kind of my idealized self.
You know how Smaug says this:
"Who are you and where do you come from, may I ask?"
I don't know if this is just me, but it seems kind of like a Fae thing to do. With him using that 'may I ask' thing that you see a lot in Fae stories.
Just an interesting thing I thought of.

James picks the losing side of the war, and falls on the battlefield. The fae sweep him up and take him home, intent on keeping him captive, but one among them has doubts. And hopes. And a little bit of love to give.

James Potter is seventeen when he realises that he's in love with Regulus Black.
you don't have to save me (but would you run away with me)
by im_still_tryin_to_find_it (~13k, rated T)
There are four perspectives when Regulus Black ran away from his home. Euphemia Potter, who healed the boy the best she could while dealing with memories of the last time a boy showed up on her doorway bloody and bruised. Sirius Black who hasn't talked to his brother in years. James Potter who last saw the boy happy and healthy, and the boy who loves Regulus more than anything on this earth. And finally, Regulus Black himself who's dealing with his entire world shifting.
don't blame me, love made me crazy

“Whatever, gorgeous. Just don’t forget about us lowlifes when you end up on the cover of Seeker Weekly.”
It’s only when Regulus’ eyes widen, spluttering in response to James, that James even realises what he said.
Oh…no.
What’s worse is he doesn’t even regret it. Not when Regulus is blushing furiously like he is right now, because all James can feel is an odd sense of pride that he was the cause of that adorable pink flush now high on Regulus’ cheeks.
For Now You Love Me

It just sort of happens. The way it spills out at dinner. "I'm dating James Potter." Sirius, of course, refuses to believe James and Regulus could ever be a thing. And he's determined to find out the truth.
words upon my skin

James Potter often lamented his soulmate mark. His best friends had the perfect marks, resulting in a picture perfect romance. It wasn't as if he intended to insult his soulmate, but the words inked upon his collarbone did not inspire confidence that their first meeting would go well.
But, in all honesty, it's not James' fault that his soulmate is so tetchy about being called short.

Hey, Fae Side Of Tumblr
...or should I say, “Fae SIDHE of tumblr” ok I’ll stop with the puns
Does anyone have any resources on what exactly happens to a fae who is injured by cold iron, and if/how it can be reversed? all manner of headcanons/dubious sources/modern fiction/fragments of old poems welcome.
if you need specifics on the TYPE of fae, I’d say that the closest I thing I could point to would be a Grendel-type being, in the older tellings. Fairly human in appearance, a bit larger than human average and EXTREMELY uncanny, some werecreature/fiend/cursed attributes but none that are visible on the surface. skin isn’t bladeproof so probably younger than Grendel was at the time he was mentioned.
so, with the whole fae true name thing, how does that work with trans people changing their name? does it end up being the deadname being the true one (not pleasant at all but they are ancient rules)? is it the chosen name? what about people who change multiple times?
The important part isn't the label per se. The important bit is that it's a sympathetic and identity-influencing connection to you.
Your deadname clearly doesn't have that connection - it never described you, after all. But a chosen name isn't necessarily it because it's the label you're using right now. Your Name is the one that resonates deeply with you, that represents you in ways beyond a mere label.
When you find it, you'll know.
