Ingredients: 1 cup unsalted butter, softened. 3/4 cup granulated sugar. 3/4 cup packed brown sugar. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 2 large eggs. 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour. 1 teaspoon baking soda. 1/2 teaspoon sea salt. 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips. 1/2 cup chopped nuts optional. Flaky sea salt, for sprinkling.
Instructions: Preheat the oven to 375F 190C. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined and creamy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts if using. Drop rounded tablespoons of cookie dough onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake in the preheated oven for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle each cookie with a pinch of flaky sea salt.
