I just kinda wish I knew
I just kinda wish I knew what exactly is causing everything. I have this gut feeling that everything is connected with my gi problems. It all started when I had pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas) 2.5 almost 3 years ago. And sense then I’ve had gastritis, chronic inflammation of the gall bladder (had it removed), gerd, bile reflux and now gastroparesis. Everything went into chaos sense then and I’m determined to know why.
My entire gi system is very angry with me for some reason.
Anyone have any advice for people with sudden GI issues?? Not very very sudden but over the last few months I tend to get nauseous very easily and have gained intolerance to a lot more foods, i also just have periods of my GI system being a mess so that's fun...
I’m studying for a gastric system quiz and this mildly annoying book says that bariatric surgery is the most effective treatment for obesity and related conditions.
Under client education it says that dramatic changes in food intake and regular physical activity will be necessary for successful longterm results. I’ve managed to accidentally eavesdrop on the table conversation of a woman that was going to have some manner of bariatric surgery, and dramatic changes in food intake is an understatement.
I would die if I had to follow the dietary requirements this woman was listing. Then after the surgery, there’s always the chance of it not working effectively.
Mostly I just want to chuck this book into a lake, but seeing as it’s full of information on other gastric disorders and on my laptop, I shall refrain.
My philosophy is eat your fruits and veggies, move around every once in a while (okay, more than that), and work to keep your basic lab values in a healthy range and after that I don’t particularly care about your weight.
I do try to remember that a person’s weight is probably not quite as directly linked to their current health problem as common medical knowledge likes to believe. It’s their body and my job is to help them along their path to wellness and what that looks like for one person is not going to be the same for another.
You know what sucks? My relationship with food. The reason why is because my gi system doesn't fucking work. And that just.. sucks. Simply because of the fact that food is centered around almost everything. I can't eat.
I love food, but I can't eat. Everytime that I do try to eat, I get sick. Sometimes even violently sick. And that fucking sucks. It's even worse when things are getting worse and you start to tollerate less and less food as well as even tube feeds.
GI problems and diseases really... just really fucking sucks. That is all.
The feels when the lecturer keeps saying ‘what gets your juices flowing?’
