IBS is such a shitty (pun intended) disease to have because if you eat the wrong thing once or drink a little too much caffeine or even just get a little anxious, you end up spending all day sweating on the toilet feeling like your asshole is being dipped in a vat of acid while multiple flaming knives jab your stomach from the inside. I am 26 years old and I am a survivor of a lifetime of pain. My childhood was destroyed when my mother was imprisoned for trying to kill my father. I was raised in state institutions where I was exploited for free labor, working 6 days a week for nothing until I was 18.
I thought I finally found a family, but my partner became violent. She abused me, lied to the police, and dragged me through court. Two days ago, I finally had to leave to save my life and my dignity. Now, I am homeless in Portugal with absolutely no one to turn to.
Because of the extreme stress and living on the streets, I have developed severe Gastritis and Anxiety. I am in constant physical agony and I am starving because I cannot afford the specialized food or medicine I need. I am alone, sleeping on the concrete, just trying to survive to be a father to my son one day.
