Prompt 7 - Guarantee
@jegulus-microfic May 7, Word count 187
Previous part First part
Regulus was ushered from Gryffindor Tower and herded down the stairs towards the dungeons. If it had been anyone else but an excited James, he would have cursed limbs off.
Luckily, all his friends were gathered in his dorm again. Evan’s houseplant had bloomed, and the magical jar surrounding it had been extended to accommodate the red plumage.
“James wants you all,” he drawled from the doorway. “Why is it that you’re all always in here?” He asked as they began to file out. Regulus could guarantee that they’d never have done so so quietly and without question if he hadn’t mentioned James’s name.
“What can we say, the atmosphere is a lot more pleasant these days,” Barty snickered as he hurried past Regulus, implying that, as Regulus spent most of his time up in Gryffindor Tower, that his absence had been the reason. Regulus sent a stinging hex down the stairs at him and smirked when a loud ‘Ouch!’ sounded from the bottom.
James was pacing wildly when they got to the entrance hall. They had just got to the gathered Marauders when Professor McGonagall appeared.

"The majority of the stupid is invincible and guaranteed for all time. The terror of their tyranny, however, is alleviated by their lack of consistency." - Albert Einstein (attributed).
Life does not guarantee rewards to those who “work hard and play by the rules,” and it never has. The only good is kindness, and nature doesn’t urge it on us.
