“When this is all over, I’m going to go to the seaside, to wake up to the sound of waves and the sunshine on my face. To have cocktails at lunchtime and relaxing walks in the evening when the heat dies down. I’m going to relax, for the first time in my life I'm going to unwind."

Its a confession the stoic/long-serving member of the group says as they prepare to meet the Big Bad in a fight they know they might not make it out of. But they do - miraculously they do - but the stoic character suffers a terrible injury which leaves them with months of recovery. Still, the team want to make sure the whumpee fulfils their retirement goals, and plan to get the whumpee to the beach by any means possible.

(For some added twisted irony, the whumpee could take [what they think are] their final breaths on a beach as the sun sets...)

i'm currently struggling to pay hospital bills while juggling house bills + groceries, and i have So many more appointments coming up. i'm 19 with hEDs and fibromyaglia and im currently unable to work any part time jobs in my country because most are standing jobs that i am unable to do.

as of right now im about 5.7k in debt, and will probably be incuring more debt as i have to be in and out for hospital appointments very often. it would mean the world to me if i could get any help for this as my mother is a freelancer and already struggling to keep herself + my grandmother afloat

Hi.

My name is Hannah and I am 27 years old.

I have lived with Complex PTSD and Anorexia since I was 6 years old.

Over the years I have also been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, panic disorder, Functional Neurological Disorder, Fibromyalgia, a large bowel that no longer works and Costochondritis. I have had 46 hospital admissions both medical and mental health over the past 8 years to date (date of posting is April 2024)

I require weekly psychology, dietitian,, GP and physiotherapy appts as well as weekly medication costs, and other specialist appointments frequently.

I have been on the disability pension since 2019 but that doesn’t even begin to cover half of what I require and I have thousands of bills outstanding and money required to access the supports that I need to not be in hospital every few weeks.

I so appreciate the current cost of living but would be so grateful any donation large and small so that I can begin to truly live. Believe me when I say I have exhausted every option possible to try and get on track and moving forward.

Locklyle Week 2024 - Day 3: Don't go where I cannot follow you

I don't think people understand the inherent whumpiness of lying in bed (especially in a hospital). I don't mean 'oh I'm so helpless and depressed and miserable and vulnerable'. I mean

Pressure sores (which can kill)

Bruises, strains, etc from being put in uncomfortable positions. Or getting themselves into uncomfortable positions and getting stuck.

Disorientation, especially if your whumpee wears hearing aids and/or glasses (I had to get the paramedics to fetch mine the other day and I have fairly okay hearing without them. Pain/illness makes everything worse)

If they have any issues whatsoever with urinating, they will be in PAIN. A bedpan is one of the most painful things to piss in I've ever experienced (and I've had catheters, and urinary retention from a surgery near my bladder, and been to pelvic floor physio so I know bladder pain)

They don't get to choose when they get help in a hospital. Need to pee? Gotta wait an hour until the nurse comes around, it's not a medical emergency. Hungry? Oh well, it's not meal time. Thirsty? Again, gotta wait. Maybe refused entirely if they're NPO.

Things just happen to them. They get moved places. They get told things are going to happen randomly. They get woken up. No time to calm down or relax.

There aren't outlets near a hospital bed. Phones die. No way to contact friends or family.

Am I the asshole for wanting to beat up a “friend”?

I, W (personal protector) have recently been watching a situation play out with a “friend” D (singlet). D has spent the past three months demonising us as a system, she has fakeclaimed us *behind our back* and has tried to get our other friend (T, system) to stop being friends with us by saying horrible things (we will not be sharing as we are still processing).

Recently D has started to exhibit some very abelist behaviours and beliefs towards us and T. We have Tourette’s syndrome (we being us and T) and some of our tics happen to be quite loud. We (as in our system) also have some punching tics. And D has started to glare at us and roll her eyes whenever we tic.

Now we suspect that she is doing this due to another friend of hers (J, singlet) as his boyfriend (Z, system) and his friend (S, singlet) has tics and tourettes respectively. J does not believe we are a system, that we have tourettes or that we are autistic.

The more I have watched this happen the more I have realised that these things have been making the system as a whole very suicidal. And because of this I am also seeing lots of us very angry.

In the past few weeks I have had thoughts of fucking decking her, punching her so hard her nose breaks and she bleeds. Or that she has to be hospitalised so she cannot hurt us or T.

So I approach you. Am I the asshole?

(This post is rhetorical. I do not want to know if I am the asshole)
