I have never previously liked the idea of Rtte characters making an appearance in the Httyd movies, but now, all of a sudden, ...with Httyd3 feeling so very Rttesque... I'm no longer averse to the idea.
I like the feel of Rtte and the movies gravitating towards each other, even though I've never considered them to be in the same universe.
Httyd having other people in it besides the Berkians came as such a shock to me in the second movie. Like...the isolated community that we knew and loved was suddenly placed within a vast world of other nations, and the realism of the Norwegian coast on the map etc. just made the world gain another kind of consciousness.
Now since there is this clear overflow of villains in the movies - Drago, Grimmel, Griselda, Chaghatai, and Ragnar, it's definitely time to balance that with some allies, of which we have only Eret so far.
So in my personal Httyd4 fantasy, it's absolutely crucial to introdue Dagur as a longtime friend. Someone who didn't have to be in the first three movies, but who Hiccup forged relations with sometime offscreen, and who is important to him now as they are both Chieftains protecting their tribes from enemies. Poor Hiccup needs a friend who is also a Chieftain to have someone to relate to. So a brotherly visit from Dagur is what kickstarts the 4th movie for me.
Anywho, this comes with Heather, whom I've never liked. But the Httyd movies always needed more female warriors. And I'm mad that they never gave Snotlout, who is the actual great romantic amongst other members of the gang who never desired romance, a wife.
So. I'm not too big a fan of Heathlout, nor do I think they could have worked in Rtte, but with the right setup in the movies, you guys...
So yes I am absolutely still fantasizing about a Httyd 4 and I'm so freaking late to class right now ahhh
