Hey, I'm starting the whole SGF life ( I'm meeting potentials) any quick tips and tricks for the beginning part of dating.
Hi friend! Sorry for getting back to you so late :(
I will share what has worked for me and has kept men interested despite social distancing requirements and my super busy schedule. I am assuming that you already look the part or getting close to it!
1. You have to treat this man like he is your actual boyfriend. This is the only way you will get him to trust you and get more from him. Being a SGF takes time and you will often find yourself sacrificing a lot of your time and energy in the beginning. That is why it is important to screen these men and make sure you know your time won't be wasted. A quick tip is to avoid men who say how much they have spoiled women in their past in your first conversation. This is a red flag. They are just trying to lower your guard and not give you anything.
2. Figure out what he is missing from his life EARLY. Obviously, these men are looking for companionship and intimacy but can you figure out what he really desires? Is he looking for arm candy? A constant ego boost? Someone to listen to his problems? A younger version of his ex-wife? Figuring this out and attending to those needs will help you become what he's been looking for all his life and will make him want to give you the world. For example, many men in the past have told me they love my ability to have thought-provoking conversations with them as well my beauty (particularly my figure, my smile, and my eyes). So this tells me they are looking for a good listener, someone to talk with, and arm candy. As a result, I stay up to date with current events, read up on different people and topics, listen to interviews and podcasts, and invest (with their money) in my looks. It is important to note that I already love doing these things so it does not seem like extra work.
3. Boost his ego and be his cheerleader. Men rarely get complimented so doing so will be advantageous. However, do not act too impressed.
4. Just because he's your boyfriend doesn't mean you have to give him all of your time. Don't text him forever. Or all the time. For example, I don't text after 10 pm and when my friends or family are visiting, I let my main guy and POTs know and they wait for me to get back to them. It is important to make him miss you. If you are always at his beck and call he will get bored. However, do not blatantly ignore him. Always be excited to talk to him again and have something fun and interesting you want to do with him.
5. To have a successful SGF relationship, you will have to be a great conversationalist. When he brings you around his friends, you should be able to contribute to the conversation. Being more than a pretty face will boost his ego and make him want to give you more because you're clearly a gem.
6 Laugh at all of his jokes even if they're not funny. My main guy loves doing voice impressions and he's not bad, but they definitely are corny as hell. I still laugh my ass off and tell him how funny he is. He has done stand-up comedy in the past so the validation I give him brings him joy.
7. You need to be fun and interesting! Always suggest something he has never done or tried before! A lot of these men miss their youthful days (and are still boys inside) so being playful and spontaneous is important.
8. Always try to be warm and inviting. On dates, greet each POT with a hug and a smile. My grandmother is French so it has been ingrained in me to greet almost everyone with cheek kissing. Also, don't be afraid to touch him lightly during dates. It is important to show him that you are interested in him. However, don't forget to balance it with being occasionally cold.
9. I expect you to be dining at expensive and classy restaurants so you must know dining etiquette!
10. Pay attention to fine details and make eye contact. For example, make sure your nails are done, your breath doesn't smell, and that your make-up matches your neck. As a SGF, it is a cornerstone to look put together.
11. Do not share your problems or grievances with him in the beginning. He is a man and most men do not know how to attend to a women's emotional needs. He will not be interested in pursuing something with you if you are sad all the time.
