We should have a discussion on whether Jason would be a Red Lantern, an Indigo Lantern, or a Star Sapphire.
There I’ve set the stage
Discuss
canon lantern corps and their “emotions”
notes: for all those who want to write lantern corps stories and don’t know about all the lanterns, feel free to message me about them!
black lanterns → death
blue lanterns → hope
gold lanterns → happiness
Lie Ren of Remnant, you have the ability to feel great Compassion. Welcome to the Indigo Tribe!
Inktober 7, 2019 Prompt: Enchanted
Indigo-1 enchanted by the indigo light of compassion
Lessons from Lanterns: Indigo
The Indigo Tribe is a group of former psychopaths who are powered by compassion. Their indigo rings and staves help them be compassionate to others. They are very enigmatic and speak a language that can’t be translated. Being separated from their rings and staves makes them prone to backsliding, or causes them to revert to evil entirely. They have some healing capability proportional to the amount of compassion they feel towards the injured person. Healing someone causes them to see all of that person’s worst actions
I’ll admit that I’m kinda reaching and extrapolating with a few of these here. There are lessons that have been muddled due to some writers portraying the Indigo Tribe’s compassion as the result of brainwashing rather than genuine redemption. However, just because the portrayal is flawed doesn’t mean there isn’t value in the lessons about redemption that I wish they embodied better
Lessons:
Compassion can be learned, regardless of your natural empathy. You might just need a little more help than most to develop that skill
To the best of your ability, be considerate of the feelings of others
It’s okay to have limits on your ability to sympathize with others
No one is beyond redemption
Needing a little help to achieve redemption is okay
A past of evil does not invalidate the good you’re doing now
Hold tightly to the things that keep you stable

A lot of people keep saying that Batman is a Green Lantern or Yellow Lantern. But I think he would be better as a Violet(or is it Indigo) Lantern. He's always seemed like the most compassionate when I was growing up.
I think there’s a good artugment for most of these. I’m googling the colors nad I think he’d make a good Blue
After all, what’s Batman but the hope of a scared little kid, that someone would come and explain, and be strong?
And also it’d piss him off that he needs Hal around to reach full power, which is exactly what his kinda luck would do to him, lol
Yrra had recently returned in GLC to try and destroy the Corps & John Stewart. She learned that Xanshi was reborn after that whole "John Stewart Lantern God" stuff and has since joined the Indigo Tribe to make up for her crimes.
I see. Wow, the trades and free agency switch-ups is as bad in the Lantern Corps as it is for the National Basketball Association...
