Avengers Endgame Theory

My current theory for Avengers Infinity War & Endgame and Dr. Strange’s plan has come down to the following points.

1. Gamora’s soul is bound to the soul stone. She was bound because she was sacrificed in exchange for the stone.

2. After The Snap, Thanos found himself at a quiet, orange colored, watery place, where he briefly speaks to Gamora as a child. This place was inside the soul stone, and it was Gamora’s soul. Note that the color fits.

3. Everyone who became dust and Gamora’s soul can be saved. Other manual deaths may be permanent.

4. Dr. Strange has seen the one possible future where the heroes succeed. Strange is planning to set up everything so that this timeline occurs.

5. Likely on Titan, Dr. Strange travels into the past via the Time Gem and recruits Heimdall, The Hulk and possibly Loki.

6a. The Hulk is crucial for the victory timeline, and he must do something at the right moment. For this reason, Heimdall sacrificed himself to send Hulk back to Earth, and Hulk refuses to show himself until the time is right. If Loki was recruited as well, his job was to ensure Thor’s survival, because he is crucial for the victory timeline.

6b. Note that Dr. Strange had Heimdall send Hulk to himself on Earth, so Strange knew beforehand that someone had sent Hulk, and he may have realized later that it was himself. This is how he knew what to do.

7. Dr. Strange sacrifices the Time Gem at to correct moment to save Tony, because Tony is required for the victory timeline, saying to Tony: “It was the only way.”

8. Furthering point 7, most of the major technicians (Rocket, Tony, Bruce, Shuri) are still around. They may be required to combine their brilliance in order to beat Thanos. As I pointed out on this post, before Shuri’s lab is stormed by enemies in Infinity War, she seems to make a backup of Vision’s mind.

9. This one is speculative. For each infinity stone, a character sacrificed themselves or someone they loved, at least attempting to do so. These sacrifices usually happened in the presence of a particular stone. It may be that these sacrifices make different characters the real masters of the stones.

Power Gem: Groot sacrifices himself out of love (Guardians vol. 1) Space Gem: Loki for Thor Reality Gem: Quill -> Gamora (attempted in presence of the gem) Soul Gem: Gamora -> herself (for Nebula, but not in presence of the gem) Mind Gem: Wanda -> Vision Time Gem: Strange -> unclear at this point (maybe himself & his duty)

Even with Dr. Strange’s sacrifice being unclear and Gamora not being in the presence of the soul gem, all of this is a pattern, and pattern implies purpose. This leads me to consider that these characters, when working together, have full control over all the stones, and the stones may refuse Thanos even if he wields them.

Possibly looking too deep into this but...

After rewatching Infinity War, I’m at least 75% sure Loki fakes his death and here’s why...

First of all, Loki knows more than anyone what Thanos is capable of and he just saw Thanos pulverize the Hulk. I don’t think he’s dumb enough to believe he can take out Thanos with his little dagger.

Second of all, I believe there’s some word-choice trickery at play during Loki’s exchange with Thanos.

First, Loki glances at Thor when he calls himself “Odinson.” A little hint to Thor that a) he’s still on his brother’s side and b) that Thor might want to pay attention.

He then declares his “undying fidelity.” Thanos replies that he should have chosen his words better. But the thing is, I think his word choice was very deliberate.

I don’t think I have to explain what “undying” means but fidelity (as I saw another post point out but I can’t find at the moment. If anyone else has seen it, please reboot with a link do they get proper credit) means this:

So basically what Loki’s trying to say is “I’m not dead, it’s just a copy.”

Now, we know Thor is a pretty smart guy. He’s knowledgeable about science, strategy, how to speak Groot, ect. But I don’t think he’s a wordsmith, so Loki’s coded message didnt get through. Plus, he was under a lot of stress at the time what with Asguard being destroyed and all.

Granted, I could be looking too deep into this. I could be completely wrong and Loki’s really dead after all. But if he’s alive, I really want them to reunite with a brotherly argument about how Loki let Thor think he was dead. Such as:

Thor: *Hugs then punches Loki*

Loki: Ow, what was that for?

Thor: You let me think you were dead, you jerk!

Loki: No I didn’t! Didn’t you get my message?

Thor: You never sent a message!

Loki: Yes I did! I said “undying fidelity.”

Thor: You were your fake-pledging loyalty to Thanos!

Loki: Fidelity can mean “loyalty” or an “exact copy.”

Thor: Well, exuse me! All the dictionaries blew up when Thanos attacked our ship!

Loki: Well, when we’re finished defeating that big, purple cretin, I’ll get you a new one!

Thor: *tears up and hugs Loki again* I did miss you brother.

Loki faked his death and flew away on the Grandmaster’s ship ~Theory~

So, I was watching Thor: Ragnarok the other day, and my friend noticed something.

Remember that scene where Thor told Loki to summon Surtur in order to destroy Asgard? Well, Loki is seen taking the Grandmaster’s ship to the castle in the next scene. We now know that he has the Grandmaster’s ship with him.

After the fight with Hela and Surtur, the Asgardians escape on the bigger ship that Loki had originally arrived on. They then watch Asgard get destroyed.

Thor thinks Loki is dead, but Loki shows up, and then they talk about moving to Earth. At exactly 1:59:10 in the movie [Thor: Ragnarok], there’s a brief panning above the ship, which shows the red and gold Grandmaster’s party ship (aka, the ship that Loki was flying earlier). It’s parked on a landing pad (as shown below). Directly behind a flattened tube thing.

Infinity War begins immediately where Ragnarok ends. And as you all may know, Loki dies at 9 minutes and 11 seconds. And at 10 minutes and 8 seconds, they pan over the ship once again and over the exact same landing pad that Loki had landed on. But the red and gold ship is missing. Symbolizing that Loki flew away before a hologram of his appears to have died.

Now, look. Where is the ship? The only person that knew the ship was on the landing was Loki.

So, my theory is... he faked his death and escaped on the Grandmaster’s ship. Possibly, when Thanos was distracted beating up the Hulk.

Possible Endgame spoilers

Loki didn’t die in Infinity War. It was a relfection, or he was able to resurrect himself, used magic or tricks, or any other theory, but he didn’t die when Thanos choked him.

But what happened after this?

Well, tho he was able to survive somehow and escape, what if he wanished when the snap happened? This would explain why we didn’t see him in Endgame. Because he survived but then became one of the wanished, and because of that he wasn’t able to fulfill whatever plan he had. AND because he had a little time before the snap to get on a planet, maybe actually Earth, when Hulk’s snap happened he returned to whatever place he escaped to after his ‘death’ back in IW. And now he’s confused and trying to rethink things, and hid somewhere to recollect himself.

That’s my theory. He survived, but then got snapped away and now he’s hiding somewhere, confused, trying to find his path. That’s why he didn’t appear in Endgame. But we’ll see him later.

I just woke up in a cold sweat cuz I realized Aunt May had to have been dusted in the snap in Infinity War.

Why?

She hadn’t aged a day from what we saw in the FFH trailer and we never had her trying to contact Tony for answers. She had already known Peter was Spiderman by then and knew he worked with Tony and she loved that boy so much she would have had to search for answers unless she was also gone.

And this got me thinking a bit about everyone from Midtown that is in FFH because we have new characters we’ve never seen before...

So does that mean all the familiar faces were dusted and the new ones, like whoever Remy Hii is playing, survived and are actually five years younger than the og group and they moved along with school?

So yeah, that’s what woke me up this morning... thoughts??
