i feel like we as a fandom do not talk enough about that scene in just lovers where sirius is showing Regulus the map but hasn't told him what it is and padfoot is just roasting him, wormtail is asking where he got it, moony tells him to return it to sirius, and then prongs is like 'mr prongs would like to add that although he is not the brightest star, he still outshines everyone here on earth' and sirius is just so confused
Ok I need some assistance. I need a good Wolfstar fanfic that isn’t obscenely long (ATYD I love you but holy Jesus) but also isn’t super short you know? I do enjoy longer fics but all of the good ones I’ve heard of are like 500k words plus and I can’t do it rn💀
i started reading choices and i got like pretty far in and i knew it was really devastating before i read it and i was yk im juts gonna read it anyways and im not gonna take to seriously so that i don’t get depressed but i ended up getting invested (who would’ve thought) and like halfway through i stopped because i was like why am doing this to myself 😭 but then i read only the brave and it was amazing and for some reason it made me wanna finish choices. so should i read choices and pretend like the cannon ending is the otb ending or that the stupidest thing you’ve ever heard. like is it worth it
Hihihi hehe, so I never ever write for a man but, Remus is my little guy so 🥺 He's different. I have very few men I would go to the ends of the earth for and he's one of them <3
I hope everyone enjoys the small piece of fluff!
Warning: Fluff, slight mentions of sadness but only a little. Kisses, cuddles and MORE FLUFF! Oh and separation :(
It was currently raining and storming. Layed across Remus' lap inside the library , you decided to close your eyes. You guys were in the sixth year and he loves you madly. He's never really received the love he was supposed to get from his parents. You gave him all the love.
Gently running your palm over his sweater in your sleep. Remus looks down at you In adoration and amusement, gently running his fingers through your hair. You couldn't nuzzle anymore into him then you already are. He just hugs you tighter.
Sleep seems to happen for a while, maybe two hours or so? It's getting a little late. Yawning softly , your eyes flutter open and he's their to greet you In gentleness. His voice slightly deep and his accent soft, "Hello their babydoll, sleep well?"
You smile softly, your doe eyes adjusting to the light as you look around the library. It's dimmed in soft lights and the air is consumed in fermented earth and chocolate musk cologne.
"Mmm it was lovely remmy, thank you for holding me..You're so comfortable. I love you."
His heart melts at your sleepy confession, and he smiles warmly; gently bending down to peck your nose and lips. His brown eyes warm and full. "I love you too..so much. More than I could ever say." You smile shyly, blushing.
Looking at the time you suddenly get sad, realizing it's time to go back to your separate dorms; raising slightly from his lap you say sadly,"My love, the Hufflepuff common rooms are closing soon." He looks up at you in almost a reluctant gaze.
"Right. You should head back before they lock you out. Want me to walk you?" You nod, looking sad. You pout as Remus cups your cheeks, chuckling softly.
"Come on then. I'll make sure you get there safe." You grasp his hand making it out of the library. He walks beside you , his arm wrapping protectively around your waist. The path to Hufflepuff is quiet and dark.
He turns to you, his voice soft and full of hope. "You'll come see me tomorrow?" Remus doesn't want to be separated for to long. You nod immediately, "Oh yes, yes absolutely, please?"
Remus' eyes light up at your eager response, and he squeezes you gently. "Good. I'll be waiting by the library after class. We can check out some books and just read while we cuddle."
"That sounds so lovely, I can't wait!" You wrap your arms tightly around his neck and he immediately melts; wrapping his arms around you back tenderly. Remus takes a momet to breathe in your scent, memorizing every note. Leather, earth and vanilla. It calms him. You do the same, a soft smile on your face.
"I will be watching the marauders map for your steps.." he feels happy and proud that you care the way you do. "Always watching out for me , aren't you? Never getting tired of me?" Remus pulls back slightly, giving you one last kiss before whispering ; "Sweet Dreams my little mapper."
"Forever, I will always watch and I will never tire. Sweet Dreams Moony." You wave to him and he waves back, never leaving until he sees the door shut completely to the Hufflepuff common room.
Even when someone is disguised their name still appears on the map so Fred and George saw “Peter Pettigrew” sleeping with their younger brother and straight up didn’t give a flying fuck. I don’t think the question of possession was ever answered canonically, but if the map could see through possession then they saw Tom Riddle hanging out with their DADA professor and then their sister. Gred and Forge, kings of minding their business a little too much.
tw/cw: mention of death in passing and the afterlife
a/n: this is based to be in my fic - mention of MCs and the Rosier family briefly.
Remus opened his eyes in a panic. Taking in a deep but shaking gasp of breath. He scanned the large room - it was similar to Grimmauld Place, but this was brighter. It had life to it unlike it had before. He moved up from the bed and looked for Tonks, his wife. Where was his wife? He left the room.
"Tonks!" He walked around the hallway, panic overtaking him. He could have sworn he heard the words of the killing curse before he blacked out but hoped it had been aimed at someone else, as sad and selfish as it was, he hoped it wasn't someone he loved. He couldn't handle more loss. How did he get here? He wondered as he scanned the rooms. Was he unconscious for a prolonged time? "Tonks!" Nothing. The halls seemed longer than usual, more doors than he remembered. Was this a trick? Where was his wife? "Nymphadora!" He knew she hated it, but nobody was answering him. Where was everybody? "Harry! Arthur!" He called out any name he could. He heard someone hush in a nearby room, and from that room walked his wife. Beautiful as she always was, healthy and standing. Definitely not dead.
"Remus." Her voice was soft. A bit sorrowful too, but he didn't care. He knew now that whoever he lost, he had her to support him through it. He rushed up and hugged her, kissing her passionately. She laughed and stepped back, taking a long, amusing look at him. "Nymphadora,” She playfully smacked his arm. “Really?" He shook his head and cupped her face, admiring her eyes. She looked as beautiful as the day he first saw her. Her skin was flawless and unmarked.
"You weren't answering me, I thought you were dead." Her face fell before she offered a small smile, tilting into his hand.
"Remus, I-" She stopped talking as his eyes fell behind her in shock, tears released from him without his permission. They were slow, relentless tears that trailed one by one for what was surely ages. In front of him was a handsome young man who held a striking resemblance to his best friend, his best friend who had died not even two years before this moment.
"No." Remus shook his head and backed away. "No." Sirius leaned against the door frame and smirked, nodding once. The way he did millions of times before, his method of assurance. Similarly, he would do it to reassure Remus that a prank was successful or when he told Remus that James and Lily were having Harry. It was almost a comfort to the idea, Sirius was trying to comfort Remus in his own death.
"I expected more of an exciting greeting, Mooney." Remus looked at his own hands, half expecting himself to be translucent. He looked back up to see Sirius with a slight frown. He nodded again as if to reassure Remus that his worry was true. He knew he should hug Sirius, having watched him get murdered and now he stood in front of him in the nearest thing to flesh and bone he could, but he had partly hoped this was a dream. What a lovely yet cruel dream for his mind to manifest. He blinked once and then smirked in disbelief at Sirius. This felt like no dream he had before.
"You are early, old friend." Remus froz as his face fell, the voice came from behind him. It couldn't be. He refused to look away from Sirius. He covered his mouth as more tears fell, and Tonks touched his arm, offering him a reassuring smile when he looked at her.
"Remus, it is okay." She spoke it softly and he looked at her for a moment before finally turning around. There he stood, Remus felt his knees weaken but refused to let them falter.
"Trully, we assumed you would be ecstatic to see the Marauder's all together again." James said, crossing his arms similarly to Sirius, Lily Potter stood in front of him. A smile across her face. "Come on then." James said, opening his arms wide. Remus hesitated for a moment, but of course, he did. A million different thoughts were running through his mind, and every other one was Teddy. James shook his head and walked past Lily, pulling Remus into a hug, Sirius joined the hug. Remus, however, did not hug back. He stood frozen. Padfoot and Prongs gripping him tight, this allowed Remus to finally collapse. He let his legs finally give in to the shock, but he didn't waiver toward the ground. James and Sirius did what they had time and time again in their final years. They lifted him up just enough to gather his footing.
After several moments of them just holding Remus as he let tears fall, surely not a sob but just shockful tears as he looked between them all, Lily finally hugged him. Just her. James pulled Sirius aside despite quiet and light retorts. She moved away from Remus and grabbed ahold of his hands, the other three around them.
"Remus, I can never thank you enough for what you did for Harry. Despite your own hardships, you persevered. You did well, so well that my son knew he was loved.” Remus looked at her, fear across his face, but her look alone spoke before she did, the prideful smile she held on her face. "He did it, Tom Riddle is no more. You even helped post-mortem, some part of your soul, but the energy you used sort of short circuited you, we have been waiting for you to return." Remus felt a sort of relief overcome him, Harry wasn't here. That was all that mattered. He looked to Tonks as Teddy crossed his mind again. "But Remus." Remus looked back at Lily, and she squeezed his hands once. "You and Sirius did wonders in making Harry feel the love that James and I could not in his most needed times. Thank you dearly for that." She hugged him once again, but he was speechless. He turned to Tonks, and she smiled. Who would do that for Teddy.
"Teddy will be okay, Remus." He shook his head. He never even had the chance to prove to himself that he could be a father worth having. Teddy would never get to know Remus or Tonks. "Remus, if you think for a moment that my mother or the Weasleys or Rosiers - or Harry for that matter will go a day without a story about us, then I am not sure you are right in the mind." Remus shrugged - scoffing as Sirius put an arm around him, patting his chest lightly.
"Well, I am dead, and it will take more than a single moment for me to accept that." Lily nodded as the marauders laughed. She ushered the group into the room that Tonks had exited. There sat a man, facing away from them. Remus only needed to see the black curls to know who it was. He stepped forward and then stopped. One look at Sirius was enough for him to beg the question, to give in to any possible hopes. James seemed to be smiling nearly ear to ear. Each Marauder had their best friend - could this be James'. "Reggie?" The man turned with a smile, and Remus laughed, walking up to hug him. Regulus patted Remus on the back as they hugged tightly. Remus backed away and looked around the room at the people before him. Everyone he lost, the ones that left a hole in his soul - his very being, everyone that made his life full of light when they were living. They were right here.
"Well, this is quite the reunion of people, if I do say." Regulus said, laughing heartily. Remus moved to stand next to Tonks, and she wrapped an arm around him. Falling into him and smiling.
"Would you like to see him?" Remus looked at Lily, questioning. "Each door here, you walk through it, and it brings you where you want to be. It is how we have kept a close eye on Harry and all of you." Regulus nodded and moved forward. All of them? How often on his full mooned nights, when he felt ever lonely, was Prongs and his doe standing beside him? How many months of his life ending thoughts had they witnessed?
"Teddy is under the care of my cousin, Andromeda." Reggie said, a throwing glance to Tonks who nodded and smiled.
"My mum. Yes, Regulus and I have been watching him. He cries, like there is no tomorrow, and even though we have no sense of time, I often feel as though maybe he is crying for ages." Tonks looked saddened at the thought, and Remus kissed the top of her head. He was about to reassure her before Lily pitched in.
"Harry cried for us when we died. Children have a better sense for it. They truly know when a loved one is lost." Tonks smiled softly and sorrowfully at Lily's words. Regulus patted Remus on the back.
"Yes, speaking of which, I believe Teddy is with them - uhm, Harry and Ginny now." Regulus walked, and Remus began to follow, but then he stopped.
"Who all did we lose, during the battle?" Tonks looked at him a bit shocked and looked around the room. Almost as though, she herself forgot.
"Um, well Fred, nearly. Weasley." Remus felt a rush of relief that Fred hadn't died.
"Blasted thing too, I wanted to see the look on his face when he found out good Ole Professor Lupin and Mr. Potter were two of four marauders." Regulus chuckled at his own words, and Sirius nodded.
"Imagine his shock that his brother's rat was number four." Remus shook his head with a smile, happy to see the two joking with each other. Lily continued.
"Maxis as well, nearly, but both are recovering splendidly." Remus took in a breath of relief. Seeing as no other member of the Rosier family was mentioned, he felt safe in thinking they would recover nicely. "And yes, Maddie makes her fair share of appearances, but Ava has needed her in these passing years. She is rarely away from her." Remus smiled at the thought that one day Rhydian and Madeleine would reunite. "Severus was here." Remus frowned and looked at James, who was shockingly calm at the words.
"For a short moment, he greeted Lily and apologized to everyone for his behavior." James nodded. "Though, I returned the apology. And thanked him for always keeping an eye out for Harry. I believe he isn't moving on, though. Future generations will see him in the halls of Hogwarts. Something that leads me to believe that pranks and Peeves will become things of the past." James said it only half-joking, and Remus smiled.
"We can visit the ghosts of the castle, and we can even touch physical beings. We feel it, and they don't. I have tried to wipe mum's tears and even hold Teddy, but to no avail." Tonks' voice cracked, and he hugged her. Kissing the top of her head and resting his forehead against hers before Sirius spoke from beside him.
"It isn't all that bad. Look at me. I am young again! So are you! You just can't see yourself." Sirius said, patting Remus on the back. "Not that you'd want to, you and your ugly mug." Sirius easily dodged the swing of Remus' hand as they laughed. His fears and anxieties began to wash away from him.
"I hope Harry tells the twins that we are the Marauder's." Regulus said, and Sirius looked at him with a cocked brow.
"We? I only see Prongs, Mooney, and" He gestured to himself. "Padfoot here." James leaned forward with a smirk at Reggie, a hopeful glance that he finally considered himself one of them. "Wormtail is no longer among the living, but we haven't run into him yet." Regulus nodded and crossed his arms to Sirius' words. A smirk tugging at his lips. "His own hand." Sirius put his hand to his neck and mimicked it.
"I am an honorary member at this point." Remus laughed. “Especially since wormtail should have been exiled years ago.”
"I have spent the better half of 16 years trying to get you to say that, Sirius too since he woke up here. You say it for ole Mooney?" James said, stepping forward and pointing to Remus with feigned assault. Regulus shrugged, earning a wrestling match with James as Lily and Tonks sat down to discuss Teddy.
Everyone continued to joke and talk, and catch up on their lives (or lack thereof). He learned of what he can and cannot do, how time passes and where they will be in the finale if not here. If there have ever been bright lights to follow or just Grimmauld Place. He visited Teddy. Watched him grow and marry, he watched Harry have his beautiful children, watched Fred and George teach all their tricks to the young ones. The map went down for generations, eventually receiving a much needed upgrade after the war.
They all were dead, happily ever after. The Marauders (plus) reunited once again and some say they can hear the laughs of mischievous boys and their tolerant lovers in the halls before Gryffindor tower.
Thanks for reading. This one has been in the vault for a while, and it's just something short, but I hope you like it.
