are you gonna be weird about feeding tubes? are you gonna ask invasive questions about catheters and ostomy bags? can you cope with seeing someone give themselves an injection? could you walk up to someone with a tracheostomy and talk to them? how about someone with a central line?

does your disability acceptance extend to people with visible medical devices?

Hospital experiences while being nonverbal HSN autistic.

Being talked about in front of me like im not there.

Being talked about like im a wild animal.

Being physicaly restrained pinned down for painful wound care insted of proper pre pain medication.

Them saying “she’s autistic, she dosent talk, she dosent understand things”.

The rare ‘nice nurses” just baby talk me. Patting my head, saying “no more ouchies all done just hug your Bluey.”

My Pica being used to dehumanize me and no privacy it is shouted out in the hall “PICA PICA” and not even being aloud PAPER.

Being refused water or anything to drink and no explanation why/changing nonsense expalnations. Kept NPO for no medical reason only offered yucky sensory ick mouth spongy swabs and it shouted “if you give her those you can’t leve them there or anything she’s a Pica!!”

You know what's galling about being "medically complex" and now with the same chronic liver disease that eventuality led to my grandmother's death? I, who to my knowledge have never been responsible for the death of another human being, am ineligible to be placed on the organ donation list should my liver (or any requirement-for-life other organ) completely crap out on me because I have multiple chronic illnesses starting from childhood and the able-bodied doctors and population at large has already decided for me that my Quality Of Life™️ is too poor to be worth saving over other lives. Meanwhile, war criminals like dick cheney and henry kissinger, both responsible for deaths of hundreds of thousands or more human beings, got top priority on the organ donation list. Hell, kissinger got, what? 4 heart transplants before dying at one hundred and one? Why were these two motherfuckers who should have been strung up at The Hague for crimes against humanity more worthy of an organ than people with chronic illnesses and disabilities?

Oh you think I take too many medications? And you're shaming me for it because "big pharma is bad"? Okay, I'll just be constantly bedbound and with other complications that could make me suffer immensely. I'll just stop being on these medications, it's SO easy. 👍

Like I get that pharmacy companies are shady and megacorps are bad. No shit. The pharmaceutical industry is not good. But they're also the only reason I'm alive rn so. Please stop trying to suggest things unsolicited. It's so fucking tiring. I already spend so much time thinking about my health.

I have to get testing done periodically to make sure my medications don't fucking kill me. I don't want to rely on meds, but I HAVE TO. I cannot function in life without them. I will be spending my entire waking time scared and paranoid and delusional and vomiting and bedbound. Thanks.
