Set in Canada, Jordanna Max Brodsky’s novel explores mythology from both Inuit and Viking cultures following the story of the hunter Omat.
Published in January 2019, Jordanna Max Brodsky’s ‘The Wolf in the Whale’ is set in Northern Canada and tells the story of an Inuk hunter called Omat and their interactions with gods and spirits, both those of their own people and those of the mysterious invading Vikings. It was inspired by the fact that the Inuit and the Norse are thought to have reached Canada at similar times and though the two groups are not thought to have had much interaction at this time, the novel queries what might have happened if they did. Though Omat’s people are inspired by the Thule, the author takes inspiration for their traditions and myths from multiple sources, including Greenlandic and Alaskan cultures.
Born biologically female, Omat is said by their grandfather, and the tribe’s Angakkuq (or spiritual leader), to hold the spirit of their recently deceased father and as such is raised male. Omat is raised to be both a mighty hunter like their father and a mighty Angakkuq like their grandfather.

Idk if any other Norse pagans get upset about this or if it’s just me bc I follow him, but it pissed me off so much when Máni gets left off of posts about moon magic/deities. Because gods!!! It gets to me! Why does he get left off?? He’s no less a moon deity than any of the goddesses that are included on them!!!
So I heard some witches tried to hex the moon. Ive been hearing about how Artemis and Apollo are both pissed but has anyone heard about how Khonsu and Thoth are doing? I work with anubis, anput, set, and nebt-het so I'd have no clue. If you work with them please let me know how they're doing.
I’m thinking from my writing that it was The Roman Goddess Luna. However, I’m not sure! If it was her, maybe she was warning me about something or letting me know what will soon happen!

I had a small urge to talk to Luna and when I called to her and lit her candle I got the image of a horse or horses.
I then closed my eyes and tried to meditate, but it was hard.
So I grabbed a notebook and wrote her a small letter. I asked her of why she had came to me? And when I was writing to me it ended up being the word Tome because I didn’t space out the To and Me. Sometimes I do stuff like that by mistake, but this time it didn’t felt like a mistake. It felt intentional.
The word Tome means a book, especially a large heavy scholarly one.
I asked her what type of Tome and I heard her say a Tome of stars.
Then the urge to write and communicate with her fell off. Like I had my answer. I blew out her candle and I said thank you to her for communicating with me.
As I put away her candle I saw that the wax made a small circle in the middle of the candle. I immediately thought of a full moon and I’m thinking that something will be revealed on a full moon!
