and welcome to my journey. I can't call it a weightloss journey because that would simplify and belittle what I am actually doing. Which I am losing weight, I am doing so much more. Most people say they want to get healthy. But, in reality, they just want to look better. Which is a completely valid reason to lose weight, by the way. I am a wife. I am a mother. I am comfortable with the way I look. What I am not comfortable with, is my body's abilities.
Before I started changing my habits, I had a hard time getting off the floor. I got winded going up a single flight of stairs. And running jogging? What's that? I began eating a Ketogenic diet at six weeks post partum. I weighed 318 lbs. My highest, the day before my son was born, I was 326 lbs.
That was 6.5 months ago. As of this morning I am 255 lbs. Four pant sizes smaller. 70 lbs down. I can get off the floor without feeling faint. I can climb the stairs without my heart pounding in my ears. And I ran today.. for the first time in a very long time.
So.. if you need motivation, fine I'll give it to you. You're motivated. The decision to change became very easy for me when I realized something. If I don't do something different, things will always stay the same. Well, duh! Think about that a little harder for a second. You can live the rest of your life exactly how you are today. You can hate the body you're in. You can feel like shit. Or, you can do something about it. I loathed myself. I was ashamed.
I have a long way to go still. I have habits I still need to change. I have 50 lbs to drop before I hit my goal weight. I still can't run a mile nonstop. I can't do more than three push ups. I can't do a lot of things I want to.
