Came up with a gun concept before I fell asleep... (PLEASE READ THE LORE I TRIED VERY HARD)
ALG (Air-Lifting Gun) "Icarus" is a gun that shoots specialized darts. The darts, however, are like bullets in that they contain the charge necessary to launch them out of the nozzle.
The dart contains a GrappleWelder™ which, upon digging into the enemy, opens up, locking itself in the enemy, before using the tips of the 3 grapple prongs to weld itself in place inside the enemy. The used up charge pops off and the dart starts siphoning energy (heat + soul energy) out of the enemy, using it to disassemble a bit of tungsten hidden inside the dart into hydrogen while also throwing away all the excess subatomic elements right into the enemy. It uses the hydrogen to pump a balloon made of a fictional plastic that behaves like rubber initially, but under pressure turns solid and extremely hard. The dart keeps pumping until the balloon explodes. There's a 10% chance the balloon won't ignite upon bursting and will instead just pop, not giving the enemy explosion damage. You can shoot it beforehand, which will ensure the balloon explodes, but it will explode with less power due to the dart not having finished pumping hydrogen.
The range is weak, pathetic even; it was originally intended just for suspending vehicles with criminals inside them midair as a sort of an air jail, but when researchers accidentally messed up the values and made the balloon explode, they saw the potential and made a new development branch of the weapon, this one now lethal.
One balloon can lift up to 500 kilos effectively (I know hydrogen can't do that on its own, that's why the gun is fictional... And why it uses soul energy). A balloon usually lifts the target ~20 meters off the ground before exploding and causing the target to get launched into the ground, hence the name of the gun.
The disposable magazine holds 9 darts.
The gun's barrel is too weak for it to be used with normal bullets, though the gun's minimalistic frame makes it light, simple and reliable, plus cheap and easy to mass-produce.
