My hand
Sometimes my hand doesn’t want to do things. I think of it as my hand having a fit like a toddler or brat. When I have this happens my hand is having a “cramp” and is very stiff. It’s the spastic part of my CP. I take Gaba(pentin) when this happens and it gets better after a few moments. CP In My Mind/Lines & Roses | Instagram | Linktree Leave a comment Cancel reply Δ
HUGE fucking round of applause for those with embarrassing disabilities/disorders.
stuff that gets you stared at in public. things that you feel ashamed to talk about. it fucking sucks that the things you deal with every day are treated like this but you're not gross, you're not rude, you're not disgusting. if you have a digestive disorder that makes you shit everywhere I love you. if your disorder makes you yell in public I love you. if your disability means you have to have help to use the bathroom I love you. if your disorder is too embarrassing to talk about I love you. if your disorder makes you bleed or puke or dribble or anything similar I love you. people who shy away from us are pussies who fucking suck. you are owed compassion and understanding just like anybody else, no matter how "embarrassing" your body or your behaviour or your needs are.
I might lose respect for this but I'm saying it anyways. I hate self diagnoses. Hear me out, I am not against the concept of it but I am against when people self diagnosis and then go around telling everybody they have a specific disorder. Self diagnosis is absolutely okay when you are like "I'm having x symptoms so I think I have y disorder or even z disorder." I understand some people can't see a doctor and that's fine. If you can see a doctor, you should tell them you suspect you have a certain disorder. It could really help you get a real diagnosis sooner than starting from scratch. If you can't see a doctor and you self diagnosis it's important that you let people know that it is self diagnosed. Please stop going around telling people that you have a disorder when you aren't diagnosed. This can be not only embarrassing for yourself when you find out you don't have that disorder but you could actually end up spreading false information about disorders and potentially even worsen the stigma around certain disorders. If you self diagnosis and choose not to tell people that you aren't officially diagnosed and/or if you deliberately use your voice in disabled spaces or speak over diagnosed people you are a shitty person. If you don't agree with me kindly block or unfollow me. This is my opinion and I will 100% always stand by it.
I'm thinking of Schlitzie tonight.
I'm thinking of what a darling he must have been. How much he loved to perform and see people smiling and laughing. How he had to wear dresses since he couldnt take care of himself, but still enjoyed wearing them because of how pretty they were. How he must have picked the cutest little bows out for his caretaker to put in his hair.
But I'm mostly thinking of how he deserved better. How he didn't deserve to be labeled a freak, or be taken away from his friends to be placed in a mental institute where he couldn't see people smile and laugh. Overall, I'm thinking of how much he deserved a family and environment as loving as he was.
Rest in peace, Schlitzie. You were brought into a cruel world, but you yourself planted seeds of love and joy into it's soil.
Macrodactyly is one of the more common presentations of localised gigantism, which causes hypertrophy of a person’s fingers or toes. Localised gigantism can also cause an affected limb to grow to excessive sizes. There is no single cause of this condition, instead a number of different diseases or medical conditions can result in an abnormal growth or accumulation of tissue. Some of the better known disorders that can lead to macrodactyly include proteus syndrome, elephantiasis and acromegaly,

I decided to make a GoFundMe
I made a GoFundMe for Botox. I have put down the entire price without insurance for one round of Botox—yeah, the cost of a used 2010s car or with insurance a month’s rent in a bigger city. Hey y’all I have hemiparesis spastic mixed right-sided Cerebral Palsy and get Botox for spasticity every few months. I might not have insurance by the end of this year. The cost without insurance is $15,000…
