White Knight Wall-E Au
Ok, I saw the most recent ask they sent to @pilot-boi and I can only say one thing. WE NEED A WALL-E AU!
It could be something like ever after so that Jaune wouldn't turn into the rusted knight that we know, he would still maintain his youthful appearance from volume 7/8 and maintain the same plot as the film and even the cockroach that wall-e has as a pet It could be juniper.
Besides, as wall-e is a BEAUTIFUL film, there would be many beautiful scenes as an example.
And i can see M-O being whitley schnee
RWBY Volume 5 Episode 2: "Dread in the air" Rewatch thoughts. RWDE/Critical opinions ahead, you have been warned.
.I'm gonna have my few comments on the opening here, "The triumph" goes harder then "Let's just live" IMO, and even "When it falls" too. Still doesn't beat the first two OPs but no OP reaches them until like "Inside" I think?
.I get Nora on the ceiling is a funny visual, but also how?
.And a bunch of action shots that totally won't get reused in a really jarring way later, what are you talking about?
.There's other stuff I could talk about relating to things in the OP, but I'd talk about them when we get to them in the actual show.
.The show is being really dramatic over what's basically just Watt's making Lionheart go into an evil discord call.
.I'm as fascinated by the Seer as Watts is.
."Oh, you've recovered" hehhe
.God Cinder wants to kill that 16 year old so bad.
.Other people have pointed this out, but Salem using fear against the guy who already fears everyone feels kinda weak, I think her being his safe Haven (Heh) would've played into Salem's puppet master nature, and also be less on the nose for the "Lionheart is literally just a coward" thing.
.I know it's correct, but why would Watts guess Ruby for cutting Tyrian's tail? Wouldn't the veteran Hunter who Watts knows fought Tyrian make more sense to him since he wasn't there?
.Why does Cinder need "The usefulness of others" explained to her? Her whole plan the first three volumes was her literally using other people.
.Salem saying she want's a word with Tyrian, presumably because Qrow isn't dead, makes me wonder why she didn't comment on or at least react when Lionheart brought him up at first.
.Taken in these floating Gravity Islands because there the last cool natural location on remnant we'll see for a while, outside of like one Dust mine I guess.
.The lancers are some pretty cool Grimm designs that feel evolved to kill people in air ships specifically and I like that. They're also some of the few Grimm to actually kill people on screen, everyone in that ship is fuckin dead lol. And the Lancers destroyed it by one of them ramming into it a making the whole thing explode... wait how?
.So pilot boy just happens to be carrying Dust vials that are perfectly shaped for Myrtenaster? (I LOVE NITPICKING) Also the Dust vials aren't clear and that isn't just the Dust's color through glass, no one ever remembers this, including me.
.Yeah, I''ll admit it, this chase scene kicks ass. It really uses the environment to it's advantage and it stands out as a air-ship based battle in a show of mostly grounded ones.
.I already liked the Lancers, but I REALLY like the queen. it's as oversized and nasty as you'd expect. You can also tell it being called a "Queen" is less of a scientific term and more a colloquial one because Grimm don't really have sexes. It also has a ranged attack, something you REALLY need if your going to be fighting modern humans.
.So Weiss can just levitate stuff on top of everything else? Jesus the Scnhees are cracked.
.I forgot Weiss's summons can functionally teleport, does she not do that ever again or am I tripping?
."Ya know, this episode might be actually good despite a few snags" Realizes this was the episode with THAT scene "Goddamnit"
.Sienna, Sienna, Sienna... They gave her a design this good and the VA of fucking Bulma for WHAT exactly? She dies immediately just so Adam can be cartoonishly evil, and so they don't have to write nuance in the one plotline that NEEDS nuance the MOST. Even the people somehow defending the White Fang storyline in 2025 somehow, say this was a mistake, and those people have the worlds lowest standards.
.Also how did she die? She's being threatened, she has no reason to not her her aura up. Unless she wasn't supposed to have it unlocked and her being a fighter in the Adam short and such was a retcon, but that doesn't sound likely.
.Is Adam really wrong when he says faunus are superior to humans? They have better senses and and basically every faunus trait we've seen is a little inconvenient at worst and at the same tier as a whole ass semblance at their best. I guess the writers didn't think that through, but what did they think through in the WF arc?
.The only good thing about this is Hazel being as reasonable as the follower of an evil witch queen can be. I really hope they don't rip all of the intrigue and potential nuance out of his character later and then have him torture a 15 year old on screen...
.Okay, moving on from THAT we have Weiss barely surviving a crash landing and Raven finding her, which is actually a really clever way to tie her into Yang's plot. All of Weiss's scenes this episode were good, I wish they weren't overshadowed by what's probably the dumbest writing decision in at least this volume, probably.
the rwby fandom be asking for LGBTQ rep but choose to ignore the canon LGBTQ characters like Ilia, The Cotta-Arcs, Pilot Boy (supposedly), Scarlet, and Coco.
Now I'm gonna write a sad drabble on pilot boi's bf back home
Please take a look at this amazing fanart by @frostedangelinthesky showing the best Pilot Boi ship eveeeeer.
So in the RWBY/WALL-E au are they androids?
HMMMMM i like to think yes and no at the same time.
Like who come with the idea was a ask for @pilot-boi but i think they all being androids is better
The funny thing with the utter mess that LGBTQ representation on Voltron has become is that RWBY did the same thing Voltron did with Adam. Pilot Boy was supposed to be the first canonically gay character. Both shows were at a point where they considered killing one the first canonically queer characters right after they appeared on the show, and then during the writing process got confronted with the bury your gays trope. Only that RWBY did the right thing and decided not to make him gay, and they gave us proper LGBTQ representation instead, with their sexuality being confirmed on the show and not just subtext to bait the audience at a panel, a lesbian couple where both of them have names and didn’t die. The best thing is that there is more even representation to come. Meanwhile Voltron thought they were better than the bury your gays trope and that the fans would understand that it didn’t apply to them for some reason.
When writing LGBTQ representation, the first and most important step is to acknowledge that what you had initially planned may be flawed, to be ready to change things when confronted with feedback, and to listen when people say something isn’t a good idea instead of just thinking that your show is definitely better than that and harmful tropes don’t apply to it. RWBY did that. I hope other writers follow.
Who was going to be gay that was killed off?
Originally there was a line in Volume 5 in which Pilot Boi (aka the pilot on whose ship Weiss travels to Mistral) mentions his boyfriend. Miles and Kerry got feedback about it not being good representation to have the first canonically gay character on the show die right away and be kind of a douche, so they killed him off without confirming his sexuality on the show. I’m glad they did that, it was the right decision to make.
