With the May 13th demo drop swiftly approaching I've decided I need some help combing through the demo and more feedback on the game. So, I'm opening an application for playtesters! If you're interested, check out the link below or read more about what playtesting is under the cut.
This playtesting application will remain open through April 17th. People chosen as playtesters will hear back from me (Albie) by April 19th. For this first round I'll only be selecting a few people. If you aren't chosen, rest assured that there will be more opportunities to apply in the future and I encourage you to do so.
Thank you so very much for your interest and time! :)

Hello! Thank you for your interest in becoming a playtester for Zorlok.
This form will remain open from April 10th through April 17th. Peo
For more information on what playtesting entails, check below the cut!
What is playtesting?
Playtesting is the process of combing through the unreleased version of the game searching for bugs, typos, grammatical errors, and other mistakes. Playtesters are expected to point out such errors so that the public release is as polished as possible.
They're also expected to provide feedback on the game's content, continuity, choices, and may be asked for input on other topics related to the game's future storylines and characters' arcs.
Because this game is heavily impacted by choice with many different customization options and paths available, playing through the game multiple times and exploring different options is an important part of the playtesting process.
Playtesting is a volunteer position. Those chosen as playtesters can decide whether or not they'd like to be credited on the Zorlok masterpost, the itch.io page, and/or in the game's credits.
Most importantly, playtesting is not just a way to get early access to the game. If chosen, you will be expected to provide feedback within a specific time window. Playtesters must keep links and passwords private. All discussion of this unreleased material of the game must be kept to the Discord server. Playtesters who leak info or share the unreleased game with others will immediately be removed from the team. Playtesters will also be removed from the position if they are repeatedly inactive in the playtesting process.
If at any time - for any reason - you want to opt out of playtesting, you may do so with no questions asked (just, please let me know you won't be participating anymore).
All communication will be done through Discord, either in the private Zorlok Playtesting server or through direct messages.
Since the demo is releasing May 13th, you will be expected to provide feedback on the first demo release before then. Afterwards, playtesting will be done incrementally.
Thank you so much for your support and time. If you are interested in playtesting for Zorlok:
I know that with a blog this new, I probably won’t have much luck asking this, but it’s woarth a shot! I just completed the first chapter of the demo for my game, and I’m hoping a couple people would agree to play-test it, to see if the beginning is gripping/interesting, if you’re curious about the world I’m building, about the MC options, bugs and stuff not working, a whole lot of things.
So if you’re interested, please send me a direct message, it should be working. And in case it’s not, feel free to send an ask!
I’m glad you liked the suggestions! I love the idea of the spell and the flavor of it.
I could have better clarified the comment about death ward only being cast once. What you described in your comment was exactly what I was thinking of and how I’ve used death ward before. Cast before/very beginning of the encounter then forget about it.
And as you noted, if you really want to keep a party member up you can keep burning 4th lvl slots to recast death ward on them. But even then you’re still just keeping them at 1HP.
As a result my thought for the once per long rest limit for time reprieve was to prevent a caster from potentially spamming it (albeit at the cost of their high lvl slots) to continue gaining those temp HP which in a way makes it stronger than traditional death ward. Also assuming they’re fighting something that deals massive chunk damage and can wipe out those temp HP rather quickly. (Rogue sneak attack, high lvl spells, dragon breath weapon, etc)
Narratively I’m not sure how you imagined the spell, but it reminded me of Essek’s resonant echo spell a bit. Stealing the energy and unspent potential of alternate timeline versions of yourself. Which I felt would be physically taxing on the caster so it can only be used once a long rest.
Hey, everyone, sorry for the lack of posts in these... 3 days? I was sending a demo version of Virgo to friends for them to playtest and was re-thinking some stuff about the flow of the game, pacing, difficulty, and the gameplay itself (lots of bureaucracy I can’t show, rly). Some people playtested Virgo, and feedback has been mixed in certain areas, so I think it should be good to hear more extensive criticism on the game before releasing it!
That’s why I’m in dire need for Playtesters and also Proofreaders! As some of you may know, I’m not a native english speaker, so I need a lot of help with that! I already fixed some of the major mistakes, as @pinkuboa helped me, but I may need more proofread for the rest of the demo.
For playtesters, I need someone who will:
Have the spare time to play through the 2 endings of the demo, with 1 hour and 40 minutes in each playthrough;
Be willing to give throughout criticism for each segment of the game;
Give criticism on the plot, structure, flow, pacing and gameplay, battles, difficulty, mechanics, boss battles and assets.
Be able to bug test the demo, looking for bugs everywhere.
For Proofreaders, I need someone who is a native english speaker, or at least fluent in it, so that any prior mistakes on the game can be fixed before releasing the demo.
Also, plz, reblog this to help me find people so that the demo can be released sooner~
