Hello! My name is Bella, and I started this blog after being inspired by @npd-confessions !

In terms of pd’s I have both DPD and BPD although this blog will specifically focus on DPD.

The flag for DPD I use was created by @lovesse ^-^

This is a space for people with DPD and loved ones of a pwDPD to vent, ask questions, or submit mostly anything related to the disorder.

Some ground rules:

vents are only permitted if they are related to DPD

I am willing to answer questions about DPD with my experience, but it is NOT medical advice. I will not give out professional or medical advice or tell you if I think you have DPD or not. Sorry.

Claiming Narc abuse or calling your abusers narcissists is not allowed, these asks will be deleted. Ableism against those with NPD or ASPD is strictly frowned upon on this blog.

I won’t be involved in discourse. This includes syscourse, I am a system but I’d rather not be involved.

No vague posting real tumblr blogs. Venting about friends and such is okay, but shading another blog is not allowed.

So my new psychiatrist said he has never heard of DPD before, so that's gonna be an interesting thing to work out seeing as that's what I'm currently in treatment for with my counselor at our local clinic???? The clinic that set me up with this team after they called crisis for me a bit ago??????? Im concerned about that, it took me so long to get told it was DPD and finally understand everything and now that might be an issue since he's never even heard of it.

Has anyone else been through something similar?? Is there any advice out there?

also quick disclaimer hiiii my name is aimee (any prns, my emoji is 🦼) and i hold all our disability confidence and knowledge!!

the easiest thing for me to talk about is kind of hard because i dont necessarily feel like its hard to talk about any of what i personally deal with? the only thing i can think of right now is, with our EDS specifically it causes issues that are “TMI” to talk about (and im not going to talk ab that without consent) that a lot of people wouldn’t guess that it causes! i find that aspect harder to talk about due to the nature of it so im kind of answering your question backwards lol. i guess the easiest thing to talk about is what accoms i use and how it afflicts my daily life! this kind of goes for our mental illnesses and disorders too

some progress is we’ve gotten way more comfortable w using our physical aids as well as did a lot of internal work to learn how to deal with our DPD and HPD specifically! obviously we’re still learning but we have a really great and patient support system that im really thankful for

one of my favorite disability related moments of this year was talking to our partner (@rab-ler) about how he feels about us using our wheelchair in public and learning more about its perspective on it :) long story short hx made us feel very loved and cared for

maybe theres something im missing but as a pwPDs i dont really understand the flags that are flags for being someones favorite/depended/attention/etc person?

maybe i just dont get it but it almost feels ableist or egotistical in a way- and not only that but it also feels like a good way to target the pwPD that youre their special person for?

and is it supposed to be self-declared? or is it like a “gifted” flag? idk i dont get it.
