Strava didn’t register it as quite a 10k but whatevs.
It was an great, friendly race and a massive PR for me of about 5 minutes. Those splits are just way way above and beyond what I thought I was capable of.
I felt strong and fast and smooth and in control all the time which really was all I had hoped for and all I’ve been working for.
I am doubly proud as this comes only two days after my longest long run of this training cycle, which also happened to be my fastest 16 miles ever. I feel like all my hard work is paying off, I am doing all my workouts, being strict with myself about not overpacing on my easy runs, and challenging myself to get uncomfortable just enough.
I still get the fear when I am planning a hard hill workout or a grueling tempo run, but I no longer dread them. In fact, I’m really relishing the moments where it starts to push me out of my comfort zone because I feel like that’s when I really start training and it helps me appreciate the easy runs so much more.
When you're so in the zone, you miss your turn around and end up running 18 miles instead of 17 🙃 ((new distance PR by 2 miles!))
Race day, 5 k with my workplace. I was hungover, tired and had to run between a lot of smoke from people barbecuing.
Somehow I managed to beat my 5k PR with 1 minute 🏃🏃
Life is... when your hike becomes kind of a trail run. Today I hiked 22k but out of the sudden there came a heavy thunderstorm so I had to run for at least 5k up/downhill on the slippery trails. That's what I call an adventure.
Run streak day: 200!!!!!
Miles for the year: 791.3
So today was the big day, i have ran 200 days in a row!! I never would have thought I could do this, but here I am at day 200, I am soo proud of myself for keeping it up this long!
In 200 days I have ran 745.69 miles, the vast majority of them being 5k or more, what a ride its been!!
Now I’ve only got 165 days to go lol.
Happy running everyone!!!
Ventura Half Marathon W11D7. Longer run. Target pace was 9:30-9:45. Nope. Stayed in proper heart rate and perceived effort zones. So, I'm interpreting this to be a sign of progress.
Day one of get these legs ready to run a marathon: ✔
