SW AU - Ahsoka Moves In
Summary:
Today is my birthday so I present to you the one thing I ship harder than Anakin and Ahsoka… Vader and Fulcrum (which my friend and I refer to as VadFul). Before you say it, yes, I realize it is exactly the same people, but we call it something different to denote the era with which they’re paired. I won’t go into it here in the summary why I love this version more, but feel free to ask if you’re curious.
Ahsoka discovers her former lover and master is still alive after believing he died at the end of the war, so she gathers their daughter and moves to Mustafar to be with him again. He stands for everything she is fighting against, and she works for the very rebellion he’s tasked to squash out. But at the end of the day, they love each other, and they want to be together. Their lives are odd to say the least, but they’re trying to make it work.
This is unofficially another Rey Theory variant, but also a continuation of Traditions assuming that many of the events of RotS happened anyways.
Notes:
So, when I first started writing Traditions, it was my intention for it to fit into the canon story and that anything later would still happen as we know it did and that someday when I continued it on, it would be something like this. But then I threw Cabin Fever into the mix and suggested that perhaps they made it work and everything turned out better for it. Even so, I still think the Chancellor could have influenced a lot of things and maybe his fall wouldn’t have been about Padmé but could still happen with Ahsoka. So, this story is assuming that the chancellor still found a way to manipulate Anakin.
I have no idea how long this will be, so I will probably be adding onto it as it strikes my fancy.
I recently started drawing/painting/making art other than writing (which is some of why my updates have been slower), but I spent a week making this picture to go with this story.

About the theory of Rey killing her parents...
I think that this theory is valid because it would explaining the awakening in Rey. Rey since the beginning is strong in the force, so strong that she scares Luke, but her power just showed up.
How can Rey be so powerful after so little time?
Luke said that Rey has a raw power (and Kylo reminds us that she is untrained).
Probably she always had the Force, but without knowing she had it, she used it subconsciously.
When little Rey understood her parents were leaving her on Jakku, she just wanted them to come back and she used the force (without realizing it). Rey did not want to kill them, but she did, trying to "convince them" to come back.
She used an incredible amount of power.
Maybe using all that power at once when she was so little (because of her rage and her strong fear), destroying a ship and killing her parents (all in the same moment) put the Force "to sleep" and growing up she forgot about it... Until Kylo, trying to use the Force against her, stimulated her own Force, awakening it completely.
It is not so strange to forget something when children grow up. And probably seeing them dieing in front of her eyes origined the trauma that made her forgetting the worst part of that moment:
She screamed "come back!" and the ship falls, killing her parents.
Obviously it is not the "Come back" to activate her power, but the feeling of confusion, the feeling of being abandoned, the fear of having done something wrong.
They are all dark feelings, but she was not using the dark side of the Force, she was using her love for her parents to make them come back.
Rey stayed on Jakku for years waiting for her parents to return because she did not remember they were dead.

If I were Lucasfilm, Pablo Hidalgo, etc. I would have never responded to the fans and their theories in such a cruel way like they did. When they say something like “Snoke is NOT Darth Plagueis” or “Jyn Erso is NOT Rey’s mother”, shouldn’t that technically be considered a spoiler?
Even if they don’t like the theories or how much the fans keep asking them if those theories are true or not, they shouldn’t be giving away the answers so soon. They should be waiting until the film is released for the fans to get their answers.
And honestly, “Your Snoke Theory Sucks” is just flat-out cruel. Not to mention Rian Johnson is the last person who should ever be saying Snoke theories suck.
If I were Lucasfilm, Pablo Hidalgo, etc. I wouldn’t do what they did. If fans kept asking questions regarding things like Snoke’s identity and Rey’s parentage, I would either...
1.) Ignore It - Because we don’t wanna give anything away until the film is released and we have tons of other Star Wars projects besides the new film to focus on.
OR
2.) Respond with something like “You’ll find out in May/December/whenever the new movie comes out.” - A simple answer that wouldn’t give away any spoilers and could potentially increase hype for both the film and the theories.

Where We're At With Rey's Lineage After The Last Jedi
So I think The Last Jedi handled the question of Rey's parents INTERESTINGLY. I also realize that they probably had Kylo Ren "reveal" it so that people like me would keep speculating and keep hype and interest up and oh look I bought into it🤷🏼♀️. Ultimately, I think there is at LEAST a grain of truth to what Kylo said, but it could have greater implications than what it seems on the surface. So here's what I think are the possibilities and what I think about them:
1. Kylo Ren is telling the complete true and accurate story: Rey's parents are irrelevant randos who didn't take care of their daughter. While it seems anticlimactic, this could be the best approach; it communicates a message that no one has to be "special" to have the force- it doesn't appear based on family. It makes the Star Wars universe about everyone, not just one family.
2. Rey's parents (or parent) is LITERALLY nobody. By which I mean, yippee! A new virgin birth of the force! A second coming! Like Vader, Rey's strength with the force comes directly from the source, and like Vader, she comes at a time when the force needs to be balanced. You know the theory. This way, Rey's mother COULD just be anyone from Jakku, but there's still the whole big reveal, and it explains her whole "raw power" thing that Luke's only seen in Kylo- also a direct descendent of the Force.
3. Rey's parents were nobodies, but her grandparents weren't- it's Rey Kenobi, kids. I mean, why not? Obi Wan impregnates someone, who's kid ends up on Jakku, and that kid has a kid with someone and completes the whole Rey abandonment thing. Ultimately, Obi Wan's kids end up being nobodies, which is pretty sad when you think about it. I think this also makes sense from a franchise perspective, if they're hoping for a successful Obi Wan prequel.
Anyway, those seem like the only possibilities to me. Personally, I like the idea of exploring Rey's independence by having lineage be irrelevant to the galaxy, but I also love the connections Star Wars makes with its array of characters and would enjoy a big reveal as well.
