tragic backstory (tm) au) while in the village a grimm swarm comes out of nowhere atlas is on the way but jaune and team must fight a desperate rearguard action to keep the fleeing villagers safe until the battleship can arrive. rwby is used as scouts picking off small groups of grimm and letting jaune know where the main group is before jaune rallies the men of the village and his own team to hammer and anvil strike the main body. the villagers might not have aura but the weight of several hundred knights in full plate with couched lances are more than enough to kill the grimm so long as they don't get bogged down that is. but while the brave heroes fight, something stirs within the forgotten dungeon of the keep the abandoned

Setting: JNR and CRDL meet up years after the Fall of Beacon. They've returned to New Beacon, where Cardin and his team are helping students and training them for the future. But they've also come back to find a murder had occured. JNR decide to stick their nose into this and learn a terrible secret.

Jaune: You're behind the murders, aren't you? This last one would make for the seventh one.

Dove: S... Seven?

Russel: Damn...

Cardin: ...If you looked that deep, then you know that it wasn't anyone Remnant would miss.

Sky: C-Cardin?

Cardin: Mangloria was responsible for letting the White Fang in. He knew they were carrying Grimm. He knew what their intention was. He let those animals loose in the city.

Jaune: It's still murder.

Cardin: It's not murder. It's punishment. Think about it, Jaune. If it wasn't for scum like him, Beacon would be the same as it was before. Pyrrha Nikos would still be alive.

Jaune: No. No, you don't get to play the hero card. You're not delivering justice, and you definitely don't get to brush off your crimes like that.
