Self-awareness is the ability to pay attention to who you are and what makes you tick. At more complex levels, self-awareness involves developing an understanding of your deeper beliefs, inner wounds, mental and emotional defense mechanisms, and repressed unconscious material – also known as self-understanding.
Quite simply, self-awareness is recognizing your inner landscape.
Self-awareness is the ability to introspection and be aware of one’s own thoughts, feelings, impulses, physical sensations and behaviors.
At the basic level, self-awareness is the ability to pay attention to who you are and what you do.
At higher levels, self-awareness requires the development of self-understanding – your deeper beliefs, internal wounds, mental and emotional defense mechanisms, and suppressed unconscious material.
Self-awareness recognizes your inner peace and unrest.
Awareness is the greatest agent for change. ~Eckhart Tolle
Just because someone is family by blood, it does not mean that they are your ally.
The support of a family is great, but it should not come at the cost of your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
Holding on to resentment is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die.
Resentment, that bitter feeling of injustice, the feeling that you have been wronged, can be a deeply painful experience.
Holding on is exhausting. It drains emotional energy that can be better spent elsewhere.
Learning to let go is a freeing gift you can give yourself, and it can benefit not just your mood and relationships, but your health and wellbeing too.
