As far as today, they're both 67 years old, turning 68 this year. And just retired from the Pontypandy Fire Brigade, as Fireman Elvis Cridlington (b. 23 June 1963) now took over the duties as Station Officer.

Pretty much, so, the end of Series 4 takes place in 1985. And later, surprise surprise, they turn out they liked each other so much. More than just friends, they became together by that point. And even got married, they date to get married. Not for the mood. In August 1985. Just a month before Penny's birthday.

benny gets in trouble, sam relucantly agrees to help him out when dean can't (and he's got to help him out. if benny fell off the wagon dean would be upset about losing the one person who's never let him down. and dean deserves to have that person. and if sam were to kill benny dean would ignore the falling off the wagon thing in favor of being super mad)

sam's been called a vampire before i feel like he's so against benny partly bc he feels kinship. and he hates that about himself. he's been clean for five years now he's not like that he's not a monster he's not a monster he's not

and yeah it's not the same bc sam was an addict but benny needs the blood to survive

they're on a hunt and they run into demons, one of which pins sam down and forces their blood down sam's throat and benny's like wot's all this about and sam's so ashamed

sam's like all right lock me up and benny's like that doesn't seem right. and maybe he stays with sam

sam letting benny drink from him. benny's being respectful, usually he sticks to the blood bags, the civilized and sterile way, but once in a while when they fuck they just let loose

dean being like i didn't want you to murder benny but i didn't know that the alternative is fucking him. also the first time he saw the bite marks his first instinct was to kill benny himself

dean doesn't kill benny in the end of s8 or maybe he does come back from purgatory so when sam's dying in a hospital bed in 9x01 instead of shoving an angel into him dean has benny turn him
