What’s your preferred movement modality? It is Pilates? Yoga? Functional Fitness? Maybe you’re a physical therapist or a sports or strength and conditioning coach. While these modalities may use different equipment and have different names for their exercises, I guarantee you that they all perform some version of a hip abduction, side lungs and share a huge commonality among the movement patterns they teach and practice. This is a particular deep and strong side lunge. It eccentrically loads the quads, glutes and hamstrings of the stable leg and the adductors of the freeFORM supported leg. If you don’t like static or passive stretching, eccentric loading is a great way to promote both mobility and strength although it can bring on the DOMS so be careful as you don’t want your clients to be overly sore.
