• He arrives with the Batfamily, fully prepared for a hostage situation, expecting the worst.
• Instead, he sees the Joker, one of Gotham’s most dangerous villains, lying on the ground, battered, possibly paralyzed, and groaning in pain.
• Then, there’s a civilian woman—no tactical gear, no weapons beyond a random baseball bat—standing over him, breathing heavily.
• Processing… Processing… This is not how things are supposed to go.
• He expected a hostage situation, not Joker getting bodied by a civilian.
• He’s immediately trying to analyze who this woman is—GCPD? Secret vigilante? Metahuman? Why is she this competent in a fight?
• Wants to step in but also… she’s winning?
• Will have a serious conversation with her later. This cannot become a regular thing.
Nightwing (Dick Grayson)
• Immediately loves this. He’s biting his lip to keep from laughing.
•He lands on a rooftop, sees the chaos, and just goes: “Well, that’s new. Usually, we do the saving, not… watch it happen.”
• A mixture of horrified and very impressed.
• If May glares at him, he immediately straightens up because that’s The Mom Glare.
• Tries (and fails) to hold back laughter when she kicks Joker where the sun don’t shine.
• Will absolutely try to get her to join the Batfam after this.
Red Hood (Jason Todd):
• Oh, he is in love.
• Watching Joker get beaten into the pavement? Best night of his life.
• Sees Peter’s reaction and immediately recognizes the “oh god, my parent is embarrassing me” sigh.
• When May walks past them carrying Peter on her hip, Jason just says, “Ma’am, I don’t know who you are, but I think I love you.”
• 100% track her down later.
Red Robin (Tim Drake):
• Brain.exe has stopped working.
• He was mid-strategy when she just… took over. Now he’s standing there holding a Batarang, questioning his life choices.
• “Did we… Did we just get outplayed by a woman with a baseball bat??”
• Nonetheless he pulled out his phone to record.
• The conspiracy part of his brain is firing up. Who is this woman? Why is the kid acting so casual about this? Is she ex-military? Secretly an assassin?
• “There’s no way she’s a normal civilian. I refuse to believe it.”
• Peter sighing like this is normal? Even more concerning.
• Now has to run a background check because who is this woman?!
Spoiler (Stephanie Brown):
• Is openly cackling.
• “Oh my god, is this a fever dream? Who is this woman?”
• Definitely post about it: “Gotham Report: Random Woman Just Beat Joker With A Baseball Bat, Kidnapped Child Only Mildly Annoyed, More At 11.”
• “This is the greatest thing I’ve ever seen.”
• Wants to be May’s best friend.
• “Hey, do you want to team up sometime? I have a spare mask!”
Robin (Damian Wayne):
• Initially insulted that this civilian got to Joker before him.
• But then he sees the Mom Glare.
• And for the a moment, he had a flashback to when his mother had a look like that.
• He has no idea how to process this.
• Glares at Peter. “Your guardian is very violent.”
• Peter: “Yeah, I know.”
• Will demand to spar with May later, because if she can take down the Joker without training, he needs to test her skills.
Signal (Duke Thomas):
• Just standing there like, “What the hell is happening?”
• Was ready to jump in, but now he’s just watching.
• “Are we sure she’s not a vigilante? No? Just a really angry mom? Cool, cool.”
• Has NO idea what to do with this information.
• Is just staring at Joker on the ground like, Did this really just happen?
• “Man, Gotham’s weird.”
Orphan (Cassandra Cain):
• Watches May’s stance, movements, and general behavior.
• Immediately realizes: Oh, she has no formal training. This was pure, unfiltered Mom Rage.
• Instantly respects her (for how much she clearly cares for her son).
• Nods approvingly and leaves because clearly, May has this handled.
Oracle (Barbara Gordon):
• Watching the chaos unfold via Batcomputer cameras.
• “Okay. Someone please tell me we got a recording of this.”
• Secretly adding May to her list of People In Gotham You Do Not Mess With.
• Saves the footage. Forever.
Aftermath:
• They will track May down to figure out who she is.
• Jason will definitely flirt.
• Batman will try to talk her out of getting involved in vigilante business (spoiler: it won’t work).
• Peter is just so done with all of them.
ALMOST FORGOT ALFRED!!
Alfred Pennyworth
• Watching the footage from the Batcave while sipping tea.
• Casually comments, “Ah, reminds me of my younger days. Good form, excellent use of improvised weaponry.”
• Absolutely adores May before even meeting her.
• When the Batfamily inevitably brings her and Peter to the Manor, he’s already prepared tea and cookies.
• Looks at May and says, “Miss Parker, I do believe you are one of the most terrifying civilian I have ever had the pleasure of witnessing. You are most welcome in this house.”
• Offers her a baseball bat, brass knuckles, and knifed shoes from the Manor’s weapon stash.
Dick Grayson Meets May Parker (AKA the Most Confusing, Yet Intriguing Woman in Gotham Right Now)
Dick Grayson was not expecting much when he walked into the Gotham Public Library.
Sure, he’d heard the stories.
A mysterious new woman, a librarian of all things, who had somehow beaten the Joker without breaking a sweat.
Tim had been going insane trying to figure her out.
Jason was suspiciously quiet about the whole thing. (Which was already a red flag.)
And Stephanie? Stephanie had flat-out told him: “She’s like a cool aunt who could probably kill a man with a spoon.”
Which, honestly? Intriguing.
So, naturally, he had to see for himself.
The library was warm, a stark contrast to the dreary Gotham weather outside.
And there she was.
May Parker.
Sitting behind the counter, sorting through a stack of books with the kind of effortless focus that only librarians and crimefighters seemed to master.
But there was something else about her.
Something that immediately set off his instincts.
She carried herself like she was always aware of her surroundings.
Like she was waiting for the other shoe to drop.
And when a sudden thud echoed from the back of the library, she subtly shifted, her fingers tensing—
Before realizing it was just a kid dropping a book.
She relaxed instantly, but Dick saw it.
That was not the reaction of a civilian.
And yet, when she looked up and smiled at him, she looked so… normal.
Dick had been in the game long enough to know that was bullshit.
He approached the counter with his best, most charming smile.
Dick: “Hey there. You must be the famous May Parker.”
May blinked up at him, clearly unimpressed.
May: “Famous? I think you have the wrong person.”
Dick leaned on the counter.
Dick: “Oh, I dunno. It’s not every day someone beats the Joker with a baseball bat.”
May gave him a look.
May: “I don’t know where people keep getting these rumors.”
Dick grinned.
Dick: “Uh-huh. Right.”
She raised an eyebrow, clearly not buying into his easy charm.
And honestly? He kind of respected that.
Then, Peter Parker came running up to her, clutching a book to his chest.
Peter: “May! Look, look! They have ‘The Hobbit’!”
May’s entire demeanor softened instantly.
She ruffled Peter’s hair, his curls jumping around everywhere, and smiled.
May: “Well, that’s a classic. You gonna read it all by yourself?”
Peter puffed up stars clear in his eyes.
Peter: “Uh-huh! And then I’ll read it to you!”
Dick watched the exchange, filing away the way May instinctively kept Peter close.
The way she subtly scanned the room before focusing on him again.
That was protection in its purest form.
And suddenly, Dick understood exactly why Jason had been so weird about her.
Because this woman?
She wasn’t just anyone.
She was someone who had fought for that kid.
Who had won against one of the worst monsters Gotham had to offer.
And she had done it without a mask. That kind of thing?
It wasn’t luck.
It was something else entirely.
Dick wasn’t stupid.
He knew better than to push too hard.
So he backed off, chatted about books, and let her think he was just some friendly guy making conversation.
But as he left, he sent Jason a message:
Dickwing: So. You like her.
Littlewing: Don’t start, Dickwing.
Dickwing: Oh, I’m starting. You’re down bad, Littlewing

Soooo, finally made a masterlist for this series and yes I did have a fanfic in a WIP but it’s going to take a bit but I’m hoping to at least have motivation to finish the first chapter by May but no promises however if you want to request anything ask or comment it down because that gives me inspiration to keep going
ALSO TAGLIST (that I can do currently because tumblr is being weird so if you want to be on the taglist just make any comment you want and if you don’t just comment that): @apple4me @sleepyistinky @freyrmichokolatte @snowravine
*Been needing to do this for some time now, thank you for your patience @apple4me 😅 (sorry been busy with school finals/tests whatever you call it)*
Tim sets up surveillance on May because he’s being paranoid, only to accidentally become the unwilling audience to Jason Todd trying to flirt with a girl he actually likes.
Tim is sat hunched over his screen, caffeine in hand, analyzing footage from the miniature surveillance cameras he’d covertly placed around Gotham’s library when May Parker started working there.
Tim (focused, typing rapidly): “Surveillance on Parker is active. No anomalies so far, but I’m keeping a close eye on her route between the kid section and the front desk.”
Tim (mutters to himself): “Let’s see what you’re hiding, Miss Parker…”
But instead of criminal activity, he got—Jason Todd. Hovering awkwardly near the reference desk.
Jason (hands in jacket pockets): “So… uh… got any new crime novels in?”
May (without looking up): “Same shelf as last time, Mr. Todd”
Jason (nods too quickly): “Right, yeah, just… making sure you hadn’t moved them.”
May (smirking slightly): “Not since yesterday. Or the day before. Or the twelve times you’ve asked this week.”
Jason (grinning like an idiot): “You keepin’ track?”
May (teasing): “I’m a librarian. It’s kind of my whole thing.”
Tim blinked. Fast-forwarded. Found more footage.
The more footage:
Jason (arms full of books he absolutely won’t read): “I thought maybe I could help you reshelve. Team effort?”
May (dryly): “You put ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ in nonfiction.”
Jason: “…Listen, caterpillars are real, okay?”
Tim groaned, dragging his hands down his face.
Dick (walking by, glancing at the monitor): “Wait… is that Jason?”
Tim (grimacing): “Yeah. He keeps dropping by the library pretending to ‘return’ books he never actually checked out. And look at him, he just knocked over an entire display rack of Shakespeare.”
Jason (on screen): “So like… uh. Do you like… Hamlet? Or are you more of a Macbeth girl? I mean—woman. I mean—May.”
May (smiling, clearly amused): “I’m more into Othello. Tragedies feel more relatable when you’ve lived in Queens.”
Jason: “Right. Totally. Queens. You ever throw hands with someone in a bodega over the last sandwich? ’Cause that’s basically my Romeo and Juliet.”
Dick: “…Oh my god. I knew it!!!! He’s into her!”
Tim (deadpan): “Unfortunately, I know. I’ve had to sit through six hours of him trying and failing to ask her to coffee.”
Log Entry Notes: Day 5
• Jason enters with The Great Gatsby. Returns it with a fake bookmark in the middle.
• Compliments May’s new glasses. Trips over a chair and pretends it was intentional.
• May calls him “charming in a brick wall kind of way.” Jason short-circuits.
• Dick and Tim scream into a pillow.
— Later That Week —
Dick (eating popcorn in front of the monitors): “This is better than The Bachelor. Do you think she knows?”
Tim (groaning): “She definitely knows. She’s just playing it cool. Probably waiting for him to grow a spine.”
Dick: “Do you think we should… help?”
Tim: “If by ‘help’ you mean lock them in the rare books archive and cut the power until they confess, then yes.”
Jason (on screen, nervously holding a coffee): “I thought, maybe, you might want… this? I mean, you said last week you liked cinnamon, and the guy said this one had notes of cinnamon, but now I’m not sure if it’s too much—”
May (taking it gently): “Jason, relax. It’s perfect. So are you… in a chaotic, explosion-prone kind of way.”
Peter sighed as he dangled from the ropes tied around his wrists, feet barely touching the ground. His Spider-Sense had been buzzing the entire time, but it wasn’t like he could do much about it. The moment he’d stepped out of the library while Aunt May was finishing up her work at the library, some creepy clown goons had grabbed him off the street.
And because he had Parker Luck, of course it was The Joker who’d taken him.
He stared at the clown in front of him, barely listening as the guy rambled about how much fun they were going to have. There were playing cards scattered around, knives on the table, and a group of henchmen standing awkwardly in the corner—probably because they knew this was a very bad idea.
Peter, on the other hand, wasn’t scared.
He was annoyed.
Because, honestly?
Joker had no idea what was coming.
Peter sighed dramatically. “Look, I’m gonna be real with you, Mr. Joker sir, you should let me go. Like, right now.”
Joker cackled, stepping closer. “Oh, really? And why would I do that, kiddo?”
Peter tilted his head. “Because my aunt’s coming.”
Joker blinked. “Your aunt?” He threw his head back in laughter, slapping his knee. “That’s adorable! What, she gonna bake me cookies?”
One of the goons near the door shifted uncomfortably. Peter didn’t miss it. See? At least one of these guys has survival instincts.
Peter sighed again, shaking his head. “Look, man. I tried to warn you. You don’t mess with Aunt May.”
Joker leaned in close, grinning wide. “Oh, but I love a good family reunion. Maybe I should keep you around, huh? Make her beg for her precious little boy back?”
A loud CRASH echoed through the warehouse.
Peter smiled.
“Ohhh, buddy,” he muttered, almost feeling bad for him. “It’s too late now.”
The door to the warehouse slammed open, nearly flying off its hinges. A metal baseball bat clattered to the floor, and standing in the doorway—breathing heavily, eyes burning with rage—was Aunt May.
But not just any Aunt May.
This was Angry Mom Mode Aunt May. The one who made Tony Stark apologize for keeping Peter out late. The one who, despite being de-aged, still had all the unfiltered rage of a mother bear protecting her cub.
Joker took a step back. “And who the hell are y—”
CRACK.
The baseball bat slammed into his ribs, sending him crumpling to the ground with a wheezing laugh.
The goons—who had been watching this all unfold—went completely still.
Peter just shook his head, watching as May grabbed Joker by the collar and decked him across the face.
He sighed again. “I told you.”
Joker groaned, trying to crawl away. May kicked him in the stomach, sending him rolling over.
One of the goons cleared his throat. “Uh… do we… do we help or…?”
The others immediately shook their heads.
“Hell no.”
“Dude, she’s not even hesitating.”
“She’s using a bat on the Joker, bro. Do you want to die?”
Meanwhile, May grabbed the bat again and swung, knocking Joker flat on his back. She was fuming. “YOU THINK YOU CAN JUST TAKE MY NEPHEW?!” CRACK. “YOU THINK I WON’T FIND YOU?!” CRACK. “I HAVE BEEN THROUGH TOO MUCH BULLSHIT TO DEAL WITH THIS RIGHT NOW, YOU PSYCHOTIC CLOWN!” CRACK.
Peter just sat there, still tied to the chair, waiting for her to finish.
Finally, May dropped the bat, took a deep breath, and turned to him. “Sweetheart, you okay?”
“Yeah,” Peter said, nodding toward Joker, who was groaning in pain. “I did try to warn him.”
May huffed, stepping over Joker’s unconscious body. “I know you did, honey.” She untied him and picked him up, settling him on her hip like he was a toddler. That’s when she saw the rope burn on his wrist.
Joker whimpered.
Before they left, May turned back and kicked him right between the legs.
Peter winced. “Oof. That one was for the rope burns, wasn’t it?”
May didn’t answer—just adjusted her grip on Peter and walked out like she hadn’t just traumatized half of Gotham’s criminal underworld.
Peter rested his head on her shoulder. “Can we get ice cream on the way home?”
May sighed. “Yeah, sweetheart. We’ll get ice cream.”
And with that, they left the warehouse, leaving behind a battered Joker and a room full of traumatized goons who would never mess with a mom on a mission again.
Barbara had a habit of keeping tabs on everyone in her life.
It wasn’t paranoia.
It was precaution.
And May Parker?
May Parker set off every single alarm in her brain.
The Resume That Made No Sense
May had applied for a job at the Gotham Public Library.
Her resume was… normal. Too normal.
College degree. Experience in community outreach. References that checked out.
But something about it felt off.
It was too clean.
Too perfect.
People who moved to Gotham weren’t usually the squeaky-clean type.
They either came looking for a fresh start…
Or they were running from something.
Barbara intended to find out which category May Parker fell into.
Barbara wasn’t the kind of boss who hovered.
But she did have security feeds in the library.
And she did keep an eye on her new employee.
May was good at her job. Very good.
She wasn’t just polite—she was genuinely kind.
She paid attention to people. Noticed when someone was having a bad day.
She helped the elderly patrons carry books. Brought extra snacks for the kids who hung around too long without eating.
And the weirdest part?
The regulars loved her.
Even the ones who hated everyone else (because people who hate Aunt May clearly hate being loved I’m looking at you ‘TonY WoUld bE/iS a beTteR gaUrdIan tHaN May’ people this is a We Stan Aunt May account).
She had a way of handling Gotham’s more…eccentric citizens.
Once, a guy had started shouting in the middle of the library.
Security had been ready to escort him out—until May just… talked to him.
Calmed him down.
Got him to sit.
Brought him a glass of water.
Barbara had never seen anything like it.
It was like May Parker was made to survive Gotham.
And that was what made her dangerous.
Because normal people?
Normal people didn’t survive Gotham.
Barbara might’ve let it go.
Might’ve just accepted that May Parker was an oddly competent, oddly good person.
Until the night one of Gotham’s small-time criminals tried to mug a teenager outside the library.
Barbara had only caught it after rewinding the security footage.
May had stepped outside just in time to see it.
She could’ve called for help.
Could’ve let the guy run.
But no.
May Parker took one look at the situation—
And decked the guy in the face.
No hesitation. No fear.
Just one solid punch, straight to the jaw.
And then, while the guy was groaning on the ground, she had lectured him.
Barbara could only watch in stunned silence as May had scolded the mugger like a misbehaving child.
May (hands on hips): “Do you really think this is the best life choice? Come on, man, what if you get arrested? What if someone else fights back?”
The guy had just groaned.
May had sighed, pulled twenty bucks from her wallet, and muttered,
May: “Go get something to eat and think about your life.”
The mugger had taken the money and left.
And the kid May had saved?
Had just stared at her like she was some kind of urban legend with how starry eyed he gets.
Barbara had to admit—she kind of was.
Barbara leaned back in her chair, staring at the paused footage.
Jason Meets May Parker (AKA The Woman of His Dreams Because She Beat Up the Joker)
Jason Todd wasn’t a romantic.
He wasn’t the type to believe in love at first sight or fate or any of that Hallmark crap. (He may read romance books but that’s fiction therefore it has different rules so it doesn’t count!)
But standing in front of May Parker for the first time—the woman who had, without hesitation, beaten the absolute hell out of the Joker—he thought, Yeah, I’m in love.
He hadn’t planned to meet her like this.
After all, he had questions.
Who the hell was she? How did she take down the Joker with nothing but a baseball bat and sheer rage? Why did the kid she was protecting act like this was just another Tuesday?
So, naturally, he did what he did best.
He followed her.
Which, in hindsight, might not have been his best idea, because when she caught him lingering outside the library where she worked, she hit him in the chest with a hardcover book.
Hard.
May: “You gonna tell me why you’re lurking like a creep, or do I need to hit you again?”
Jason, stunned, looked down at the book she had just used as a blunt weapon.
Jason: “…Did you just hit me with ‘War and Peace’?”
May: “It was the closest thing I had. Want me to try ‘Moby Dick’ next?”
Jason, for reasons he couldn’t explain, grinned.
Jason: “Well I would appreciate it if you didn’t, you pack quite the heat.”
Jason didn’t lie that hit actually hurt which only made him more curious on just how strong she is.
May: “Well from what I’ve seen here in Gotham I think that’s a good thing?”
She smirked putting her hand on her hip.
Once Jason convinced her he wasn’t a threat (and after she made him hold out his hands so she could check them for clown makeup because she wouldn’t be surprised if The Joker sent people after her), May allowed him to sit with her inside the library.
She watched him warily over the rim of her coffee cup, the same way one might watch a stray dog that had wandered in off the street—curious, but not quite trusting.
Jason, on the other hand, was watching her.
Because she was different.
She wasn’t scared of him. Wasn’t intimidated by the leather jacket, the scars, the general air of menace that usually made people keep their distance.
No.
She just looked… tired.
Tired, but not weak.
And damn if that didn’t make his brain short-circuit a little. He had only planned to feel her out. Figure out what kind of person she was.
But then (the boy who was kidnapped,) Peter ran up to her, tugging at her sleeve.
Peter: “Aunt May! I finished my book! Can I get another one?”
May smiled, ruffling the kid’s hair in a way that spoke of effortless familiarity.
May: “Sure thing, sweetheart. You want another science book?”
Peter: “Mmhmm! I wanna learn about quantum physics!”
Jason blinked.
Jason: “…You’re like, five?”
Peter (scowling): “I’m sevente—!”
May m: “Careful. He’ll start monologuing about multiversal theory if you’re not careful.”
May cut Peter off handing him a book and smoothing down his curls.
And that was it.
That was the moment Jason knew he was completely and utterly screwed.
Because the kid was hilarious, and May Parker was somehow both the most terrifying and most comforting person he had ever met.
And Jason Todd?
Well.
Jason Todd had always had a thing for dangerous women with big hearts. He didn’t say it aloud, but he knew then and there that he wasn’t going anywhere.
Not just because May had wrecked the Joker like it was personal (which by the way he sees how much she loves the kid it’s unsurprising).
Not just because Peter was the most sarcastic seven-year-old he had ever met (at least he’s not trying to stab him like Damian would).
But because she reminded him of the kind of person he wished he had when he was a kid.
Fierce. Protective.
Unyielding in the face of cruelty.
And even if she didn’t know it yet, she had just gained an unofficial bodyguard in him.
Because Jason Todd wasn’t about to let someone like her face Gotham alone.
Not now.
Not ever.

I’ll be making a taglist soon so if you want to be tagged then just request in my ask
OKAY, so I’ve been reading if Peter Parker was in Gotham (most notably the ones where Dick Grayson is his bio dad) and I also went to TikTok to scroll through some of the skits which are mostly him in the Lazarus Pits when it hit me
What if (MCU) May Parker was the one to come out of the Pits and is now protecting her Meta nephew or she was able to survive NWH and goes (tells Strange and Peter off for even thinking she would let Peter do this alone) with Peter to another dimension where Spider-Man doesn’t exist but she inherits Peter Spider DNA from either the transportation of going to a new dimension, Peter donating his blood to save her from dying, or simply because the universe thought that would be fun.
+Image she and Peter got de-aged to 20’s and 5-8 years old so now she is looked as a single mother
(I’m going with the second idea cause I thought of it more later on but anyway’s)
So now she’s got to take care of little Peter while also dealing with the fact that she’s now Spider-(Wo)man (and even though May Parker as Spider-Man is Spider-Ma’am I feel like she would go by Spider-Mayhem solely because Peter came up with because he never really got to choose it and he just came up with it off the top of his head and she was like okay) at least she’s not the one and only Spider-(Wo)man but now she’s got to deal with a kid crawling on walls for fun.
To make it even better can you imagine that before she made herself known as Spider-Mayhem or realizes that she now also has spider abilities Peter gets kidnapped by The Joker (cause of Parker Luck) and Aunt May (now younger but still protective) was not going to let that slide finds out where Joker and Peter are and starts beating the sh*t out of Joker with a baseball bat (that randomly got off the streets and the bat was so far the safest option that led her to question why the street filled with so many weapons?) while all the Joker’s goons do is watch because Aunt May most definitely have the Mom Glare and if the goons know one thing is if a mom cares enough about her kid to go after THE JOKER of all villains and doesn’t seem to care if she’s caught then she’s a woman they are not fighting. So Aunt May beats the Joker up until he’s immobile (paralyzed) Peter is just sitting in the chair tied up sighing as he shakes his head he did try to warn the guy because while Spider-Man doesn’t kill, Aunt May would kill for Peter especially since he’s all she has left (of Ben). When May is done with the Joker she unties her nephew and picks him up to sit on her hip before leaving she kicks Joker where the sun don’t shine and then makes her way off.
The next day she was able to go to work at Gotham’s Library which surprisingly had good pay that she hopes Peter will be able to go to school soon and maybe she might be able to get her soup kitchen running again or at least help some of these people out a bit more. As she’s stacking books back on the shelves (with little Peter holding the next book as he follows her around to help) she notices that a tall man keeps staring at her but whenever she looks back at him he looks back at his book embarrassed. She only chuckles at him before continuing her work but she was able to see the white strands of hair in front and his green eyes.
