BOTC Recap:
Cleo and Martyn running the game!
Roles:
Gem- The Drunk, but she thinks she's the Librarian.
Oli- The Virgin
Bdubs- The Washerwoman
Impulse- The Scarlet Woman
Tango- Raven Keeper
Joe- Mayor
Jimmy- Undertaker
Ren- Empath
False- Slayer
Scott- Imp
Pearl- Poisoner
Roles not in place: Soldier, investigator, fortune teller.
Night 1:
Martyn and Cleo are informing the evil team who each other are. Scott seems absolutely delighted with his minions.
Bdubs is being told either Oli or Impulse are the virgin.
Ren and Gem are also receiving their information.
Gem was told either Ren or False was the drunk. This was faulty info because she's the drunk.
Day 1:
Cleo and Martyn are dead! There's a demon among us!
Pearl, Scott, and Tango are conversing. Scott is claiming he's a role that does stuff at night, Pearl is claiming she can affect the game in a really good way.
Impulse, Bdubs, and Joe are talking about how they have to figure out who the outsider is. Bdubs seems confused.
Oli, Grian, and Jimmy are talking. Oli is saying they should keep him alive and trust him. Grian wanted Jimmy and Oli to kiss.
Gem is telling Ren or False that one of them is drunk.
Tango walked away for a second so Scott and Pearl are strategizing. Jim then joined them. Pearl is note taking.
Gem stole Scott.
Oli went over to the Impulse, Bdubs, Joe group. Bdubs is convinced Oli is a demon.
We've got Ren and Tango conversing.
Back to the main feed!
Bdubs is calling for information from anyone. He is suspicious of Oli.
Joe is asking for who the outsider is. Gem is saying that there is a drunk but won't say who it is other than that it's not Joe. Ren is also confirming that Joe isn't the drunk.
Tango is saying both Pearl and Ren were outspoken about their roles.
Trial 1:
Bdubs is accusing Jimmy of being a demon. His reason is that he felt like it.
Jimmy's defense is that was not very nice and to please not do a bit and vote him out. Ren and Bdubs voted yes, but no one else.
Night 2:
Pearl poisoned Tango. This doesn't really do anything because Tango didn't die and he only learns I for when he dies.
Scott killed Jimmy. Of course.
Ren learned neither of his neighbors (Jimmy or False) are evil.
Day 2:
We've got Impulse and Scott convo, I think they're coming up with Impulse's bluff. They know Gem is the Librarian.
Ren, Bdubs, and Tango convo: Bdubs said he was given information on the first night that either Oli or Impulse is the virgin. He's decided Impulse is the Virgin.
Gem and Oli are talking, Gem is willing to die to prove Oli is innocent.
Gem is telling Tango and Bdubs that Ren is the drunk.
False and Scott discussed that False might be drunk according to Gem. False is saying she cannot test her role.
Gem is gonna sacrifice herself by nominating Oli to prove he's the virgin when she dies and he doesn't. This is so funny because it won't work. Because Gem is the drunk. And thus an outsider and not the townsfolk.
Oli and Joe are discussing the very possibility I just said. Oli had not considered that Gem might be the drunk until now lol.
Trial 2:
Gem nominated Oli to prove that he's the virgin. Again, this will not work. They've realized there are two possibilities: Either Gem is the drunk, Oli is the drunk, or Gem is a demon. Gem has realized she is the Drunk.
Bdubs and Oli PSA to not do alcohol and to stay celibate
Bdubs has nominated Impulse. He did not die. Impulse never told Bdubs he was the virgin.
Oli has been used and is thus useless as a virgin. This is just how the game works okay?!??
Night 3:
Pearl poisoned False
Scott killed Joe but that means it bounces onto someone random
Ren learned neither of his alive neighbors is evil
Day 3:
Oli died because the kill bounced off of Joe.
Cleo is reminded them to kill people.
Ren, Pearl, Gem, and Joe are conversing. Ren is revealing he knows that False, Jimmy, and Joe are not evil. Pearl is claiming to be the investigator. Joe is telling Pearl to look for anyone who looks surprised when someone dies. He's saying when Jimmy died Scott looked surprised, which is funny because Scott looked way more surprised when. Gem has figured out the evil team already lol. Pearl is throwing Impulse under the bus to prove she's the investigator.
Scott, Bdubs, and Jimmy are conversing.
Impulse, Tango, and Oli are conversing, mainly trying to figure out who the drunk is.
Sorry I got really distracted watching Pearl gaslight and girlboss I didn't get what anyone else talked about.
Trial 3:
Ren is nominating Impulse. He's claiming the investigator told him it was Impulse. Joe is backing him up because Impulse lied to him and Bdubs.
Impulse defense is that he's the soldier. He was voted to die.
Night 4:
Pearl poisoned Oli which is nothing.
Scott killed himself, making Pearl the Imp. Classic Scott behavior.
Ren learned 0 of his neighbors are evil.
Day 4:
Scott has died. Our living folks are Ren, False, Pearl, Gem, Bdubs, Joe and Tango. Pearl is now the Imp.
Pearl is in a complicated position rn. Shes the only evil alive.
Scott, Ren, and Jimmy are saying Bdubs is evil because he keeps acussing people.
Pearl and Bdubs are talking. Bdubs is still confused how his powers work and thinks maybe he was poisoned.
Oli and False are talking. They are also still deeply consider over whether or not he's the virgin. Gem came in and is convinced Pearl is evil and Impulse wasn't.
Joe, Tango, and Impulse are talking and Pearl told a different lie to Tango so now they all know she's sus.
Ren, False, and Oli are also sus of Pearl. This may be the end.
I think Scott overplayed by leaving Pearl alone.
Trial 4:
Pearl is claiming to be the investigator and that she was pinged that either Bdubs or Impulse was a Scarlet Woman. Joe is going in really hard on her.
Bdubs defense of himself is that he's an honest person and Pearl lied to him in their conversation.
Oli is saying that Bdubs did say he was the virgin and was right.
Tango is pointing out that Pearl lied to him. Ren is also going in on Pearl. Pearl is saying Ren misunderstood what she said.
Scott is saying he died the night after he told Bdubs his role.
Bdubs has been voted to be on the block.
False used her ability to slay Pearl! The game ends! Good wins!
this is prolly not a big revelation to anyone but me, but walk with me through this process
Assad said in an interview that the assertion "Armand turned Daniel out of spite" is simply how Louis sees it. So it's not necessarily the truth (ofc), but also that Louis doesn't know the truth.
Eric recently teased (spoiled?) past devil's minion by saying someone else had been in Daniel's life the whole time, but he didn't remember it 👀
Rolin confirmed Luke Brandon Field won't be in season 3, but he made it seem like he might be in season 4.
They're still planning a Night Island show! I think if they wait for a hot sec (like, at least after season 4), it could more heavily feature Daniel and Armand. Cuz they KNOW the fans are fucking ravenous for devil's minion.
Daniel admits in TVL episode 1 that he's overdosed in the past.
I might need to read it again, but in chapter 1 of Daniel's memoir (which describes Daniel's life shortly before and after the Divisadero Incident), Daniel makes himself out to be overly confident. That he's just having fun with drugs. That he doesn't have a problem. But he writes it like his younger self was a dumbass and foreshadows future issues.
THEREFORE! ☝️I think that Armand left Louis for a while after the Divisadero Incident. Whether they were literally broken up, on a break, or simply physically separated, I'm not sure. Armand hinted at wanting to leave Louis in s2e5, and I think he was really tired of being Louis's keeper.
In the book, Armand and Louis kinda do their own thing, even when they are companions. They were still technically together when Louis reunited with Lestat in New Orleans.
During this period of separation, I think this is when Armand stalks Daniel and eventually falls in love with him. I think they buy Night Island like in the book. I think that Daniel OD's at least once while he and Armand are still together. It could be this that makes Armand ultimately erase his memories.
I think Louis is wholly ignorant of devil's minion during this time. Which like.... whew boy! When he finds out!
ANYWAY, this is great news for me personally! Let's just say I'm actually super happy I got a little stuck while writing "You're my matador" cuz now I have NEW IDEAS for where I want the plot to go!!! I might have to make a whole ass series lmao
Imagine octavinelle with a shrimp merman ? I don't remember if they are actually called that 😭😭
octavinelle with shrimp merman ✧・゚
Thank you for requesting! I am sorry this took so long. Uni makes me literally want to cry sometimes when it keeps me from finishing things. Also happy Valentine's Day!! 💕 🍫 🍬 Lol, it's 1:30am in the morning for me! I'm sleeping now! Enjoy~!
If I made a mistake, please do request again btw!
.
Summary: The reader is a shrimp merman. What does Octavinelle think of their classmate?
TW/CW: Just some tweel-typical implied violence/bothering
Notes: pre-relationship, male reader, he/him pronouns for the reader, the reader is NOT Yuu/Ramshackle Prefect, the reader is explicitly in Octavinelle and a first-year at NRC

[Name] is a shrimp merman, not an uncommon species but not a common one either. Growing up in the Coral Sea, he is now among the students at NRC who attended "land camp" to learn how to walk among humans in a form gained by taking a special potion.
Once he arrived at Night Raven College, he was promptly sorted into the dorm of the benevolent Sea Witch, Octavinelle. It was there that he met the housewarden and his... assistants? Associates?
Just what kind of place is this??

Okay, so I'm working on my ACOWAR posts at the same time as the ACOMAF ones are rolling out, and ngl, I'm getting the wires crossed about what events happen in which book sometimes. The main story beats really are very similar between the two.
Like, they both start with some shenanigans in the Spring Court. Then, we get transported to the Night Court for some sort of Big Reveal about how wonderful Velaris is (for Feyre in MAF, Lucien in WAR). Then, we have a chapter or two of long and pointless conversations with the IC which are mostly meant to show off what an "awesome" found family they are, as well as things to "prove" what a Good Person Rhys allegedly is.
Then, we go see the Bone Carver for dubious and largely pointless reasons. There's faffing about as we see more of the dynamic with the IC, and/or Feyre's sisters (via their first visit to their house in MAF, and via their presence in Velaris in WAR). There's a sudden random attack from a Hybern minion (Attor at the sisters' house in MAF, the ravens in the library in WAR). WAR's visit to Hewn City also happens around this time (it happens much later in MAF).
Then, Summer Court time! For the book heist in MAF, and the attack in WAR. Then, diplomatic disasters ahead as we face the prospect of the meeting with the queens in MAF, and the High Lord meeting in WAR. Where the entire premise of the NC's diplomacy seems to hinge on "show them Velaris to 'prove' we're really good, that'll fix 500 years of deliberate lies about being evil." And that's about where I'm up to in WAR at present.
All throughout this, we get random scenes/summaries of Amren researching something to do with spells/old books (alone in MAF, with Nesta in WAR, but largely off-page regardless), and of Feyre training with one or the other of the bat boys.
Like.... legit just recycling the same plot with a few details tweaked to give the impression of continuity. There's a couple of times when I've been replying to comments on MAF posts and been like "wait, hold up, that specific thing doesn't happen until WAR." And I mean, most of us have read all the books anyway, so it doesn't *really* matter, but still. It's actually insane how well the MAF posts have been lining up with whatever chapter I was on in WAR.
A few things we learn about Malleus in Platinum Jacket:
He has had many, many tutors over the years who were brought from all over so he would receive only the finest education. He's a genius however, and whatever they taught him he could do better. He would get angry because he thought they were teaching him basics because they were looking down on him and would throw tantrums so terrible he would accidentally raze his grandma's garden with forest fires. Each and every one of his tutors end up packing their bags and resigning in fear of him. 😭 He'd get severely scolded by Lilia because of this.
Deuce comments that while Hades looks terrifying, his minions look goofy in comparison. Malleus tells him to never judge people based on appearances, as they'd never have been painted if they weren't competent. He also likens these minions to his bodyguards and shares how proud he'd be if they were to be lauded by the world and the succeeding generations in the future. (PROUD BIG BRO MOMENT)
He confirms that Briar Kingdom royalty choose their retainers at a certain age, which we can alreaddy conclude by the way he employed his goofy teenage knights and his mom chose the most radical/problematic generals back then.
He doesn't appreciate the servants in his castle waiting on him hand and foot. It's protocol so he can hardly do anything about it, but he was relieved when he enrolled at Night Raven and had to do everything himself.
Lilia instilled in him from a very young age that a person is nothing if they can't properly take care of themselves. He couldn't do this in the castle though, so he instead reads plenty of books on how to do household chores and whatnot. He's delighted to be able to put this knowledge to practical use at NRC.
He does mundane things like shopping and laundry by himself, until Sebek enrolled and tries to steal all his tasks lol. Although he's visibly disappointed, he lets Sebek do what he wants.
He actually knows how to use the washing machine and dryer but only after so many tries and difficulties.
He once washed his clothes in the kitchen sink and got caught doing it. His dormmates offered to do it instead (because he's their god lmao) but he refused because as he said, he likes to exert his own effort for things.
He is a good art critique and appreciates all kinds of art, though his favorite are sculptures. He likes to see the wears and tears of things over the years. He likes to see proof that things lived their lives (even inanimate things!), and that changes and ageing are beautiful.
He once again repeats that he loves gargoyles.
Though he adores the thought of being happy amongst others, he hates it when people are visibly happy and he isn't.

Maleficent:
"If I see one more feather that isn't Diablo's, I'm going to kick you off the mountain."
After of think it for a while, I’ve come up with the next characterizations If this characters appears in RWBY Chibi:
- Ironwood would be a parody of a Military Man, Grumpy with Short-tempered and extremely paranoid, always tries to be careful about that the birds don’t be spy cameras or dangerous things like that.
- Salem would be a Calm and Old-fashioned women who talk very very VERY slowly, and that have a tense divorced relationship with Ozpin, always discussing things like how they never do a proper separation of property, about how Ozpin still sends people to kill her babies or how he supposedly paid her less than she deserve for her voice work on his stupid documentary videos about Remnant, and a looong etc.
- Adam would be a cartoonish bipolar sociopath that always tries to look cold, mysterious and cool but that can’t just let go Blake, so while he doesn't be busy having violent outbursts and boost his ego, is planning forms to win her back and beat him """"Rivals""""
- Hazel would be a stoic man that only talks with small and simple phrases, whose only purpose is to hit random people or complain about how Nobody thinks about the children!!!!!
I also like to think that it will be some shorts about him being the paternal figure that Emerald and Mercury really need.
- Arthur would be a dick who don’t even bothers in learn the names of the people, that always act fancy and professional except when he has to work in some invent, so he starts to act like the typical crazy scientist like Frankenstein or Doofenshmirtz, which creations always end up failing or just exploding.
Besides, I have a headcanon about how all the crazy machines that Roman uses in the series are actually Arthur’s creations but how he is forced to help Cinder and her minions in wherever they need, he has to make everything they ask for, no matter how stupid it will be.
- Tyrian would be a cartoonish psychopath who usually does creepy innuendos and disturbed even his own allies (except Arthur, who he considered his bestie and who usually tries to control his behavior) (And poor talking grimms, they will be his principal toys), and that acts more like an animal than a person and sees Salem like a "Dark Mother Figure".
- The Ace Ops would be the typical dumb and crazy polices, you know, like in Police Academy or Brooklyn Nine-Nine. But also, I like to think that Clover could have the role of being the only normal person in this world of insane cartoonish people, and that for some weird and unexplainted reason everyone thinks he is in a relationship with Qrow 🤔🤷♀️🤭
- Raven would be a tsundere and a classic neglected mother, always acting cold and distant with Taiyang and Yang but if someone shows affection to them or they show more appreciation for other figures, she activates her territorial instinct.
Fun Fact: Paula Decanini, RWBY Chibi’ Director, said in a Reddit AMA in 2018 that it was a big possibility to see Raven in RWBY Chibi some day.
- Maria would be the cool and extreme grandmother that usually accompanies the kids in their mischiefs or even be the one who puts them in zany situations while she mocks the other authority figures for being too soft.
- With Ilia, I think she would have a similar role and jokes like Pyrrha, trying to get Blake’s attention while she simply doesn't get it. And with Oscar, it will be a recurrent joke about how he is always close to Ozpin and even acting strangely similar to him, or he simply has a lot of bad luck.
