whereas in this scene in the meadow, Will and Mike are framed by the bottoms of tree trunks

DO Y'ALL SEE THIS. It's essentially "she is stable, you are deep" personified, they wrote the whole thing out on the screen for us. Byler has always been at the core of who Mike is, but Mileven was always surface level for him. WHEN Mike confesses is love for Will, he'll be returning to his roots and staying true to himself

This tree law thing is very amusing to me because how did Universal expect to get away with cutting these trees without a proper permit and not look terrible because I think we all should agree that 1. don’t cut trees on public property you don’t own and 2. don’t put your employees in danger just because you don’t like paying them and 3. don’t cut trees during the summer unless they are sick and/or about to die.

Universal’s Tree-Trimming Removed Shade For Demonstrators In The Middle Of A Heat Wave

The studio giant acknowledged chopping away all the shade even as Hollywood strikes continued through a blistering heat wave.

About 20 members of the Writers Guild of America had been picketing outside Gate 8 at the corner of Barham Boulevard and Forest Lawn Drive, partially protected from the sun by some bushy trees along the sidewalk, leaving some to wonder if the studio giant trimmed the trees on purpose. Some people on social media had begun referring to the incident as "Treegate."

“Our Office is investigating the tree trimming that occurred outside Universal Studios where workers, writers, and actors are exercising their right to picket,” L.A. City Controller Kenneth Mejia wrote in a thread on Twitter, noting that the trees in question are owned by the city and that any code violation could result in citations.

"Trees are essential to providing Angelenos with significant environmental and public health benefits, especially during a heatwave," Mejia wrote.

In a statement, the Los Angeles Department of Public Works said it did not "issue any tree trimming permits for 3801 Barham Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90068."

Different gates, different dimensions.

Is gategate already a thing? I dunno, so imma write about it anyway. I know that there is already speculation that Henry was not sent to the Upside Down, and I was rewatching season 1 when I noticed something, and then I noticed some more things and I have some comments...

First, let's look at the room the gate was opened in season 1:

As we know, this is when the gate was opened to the Upside Down. However, this is not the same room we see in Eleven's flashbacks in season 4, when she sent Henry through a gate into another dimension:

You could argue that they revamped the room after the massacre since they only had one kid now and don't need the big rainbow room. But the rooms are WAY too different from the size, to the shape, to the ceiling height, to the door placements.

Even the hallways leading up to both of these rooms are completely different:

Season 1 (above) ; Season 4 (below).

My point is different room = different gate = different dimension. Henry was not sent to the Upside Down.

I suspect Henry ended up in the Upside Down because Will took him there accidentally when Henry ooga booga'd him in 1x01. And, as Will likely has powers, he accidentally took them both into the Upside Down (cue the Upside Down is Will's mind theory). Henry is still able to access his dimension through his mind, but his physical body is stuck in the Upside Down.

Something else I want to address is the small gate in the tree that Nancy and Jonathan find in the woods.

I don't think this gate itself holds much significance, but I think I know how it ended up there. When El made contact with the demogorgan, the creature was doing….. something…. it's pretty hard to see because the demogorgan is covering whatever it's doing. But I think that whatever it was touching became the tree gate when Eleven made that physical connection. It was only a small gate, so it probably closed with the big gate at the end of season 2 since they were created at the same time - and everything is connected.

Or maybe it's still open and the gang use it to sneak into the Upside Down in S5...

The whole Sebastian & Ale stunt is hilarious. He / his team approved in his tags a Tom Hiddleston pic theorizing about how many times Sebastian is to appear in Ale’s Instagram, another of someone missing “The old Sebastian” and my favorite, a shadow picture of a couple kissing. The caption? “Kissing in a dream”. What a fantastic “How NOT to”

Admin - There’s a lot of speculation that it actually is Sebastian himself approving those things. While it’s entirely possible his PR people have someone controlling his IG account, I find it hard to believe they’d allow that video from last night to show up when it did. Not unless it’s what we’re thinking which is he did it in a moment of rebellion and this business with the Christmas tree is him toeing the lie again.
