A question for people who write vampires / obsessed with vampires and / etc...
Can vampires walk in eclipses?
If so, why?
If not, why?
I'm curious 😭

Why Are Vampires So Rare?
Seriously, in every movie or cartoon you check out, vampires are always outnumbered by humans. Why though? They're strong, fast, heal quick, and live forever! You'd think they'd have taken over the planet by now. But nope. What's up with that? Let's break it down
Is Turning Someone a Big Deal?
First off, the whole turning process. It's often shown as something super complicated, risky, or draining. Plus, not everyone who gets bitten actually becomes a vamp
Human Hunters
In tons of stories, humans are actively hunting vamps down 'cause they mess with human life. Films love setting these hunts in the 15th-17th centuries (kinda fitting, since that's peak "witch/vampire hunt" era). That probably put a serious dent in their numbers. But globally? Maybe not the main reason
Gotta Be a Certain Age?
In different universes, vamp "adulthood" kicks in differently. Some gotta level up first! Take Hotel Transylvania – Dracula had to wait for his daughter to hit a whopping 118! That's, like, a whole century of waiting. Not exactly quick
Or... Maybe They Just Can't Be Bothered?
If the age thing isn't always a factor, here's a solid possibility: they just don't feel like it. Look at elves in Frieren – there aren't many 'cause they simply don't have the urge. Vamps could totally be the same. Why bother making more of your kind in this, let's face it, cursed existence? The whole "starting a family" vibe might just fade away after a few hundred years
Vamp Ecology
Let's not forget the biggie: vamps are apex predators or parasites. Their whole survival depends on us. If they went wild multiplying? Total disaster: wipe out the humans, run out of food. So it makes sense that vamps themselves (or their ancient rules) keep their numbers on lockdown. (Though, seriously, why not just drink each other's blood?)
So, bottom line: Vampires are rare not 'cause they're weak, but because turning is tough, humans fight back, eternal life brings major ennui, and crucially – they're totally dependent on their "food source": us. Eternity needs some serious caution
Wait, the vampire with "Armand told the truth" on his arm: can vampires get tattoos? do they not heal and disappear the next day? was this guy a fan of the book, got the tattoo, then got turned?
or is it marker and he put it on just so he could show it to Lestat?
question for the knowledgeable, do vampires get high or can they get high in a traditional sense?
help a fanfic author in need!
Ok yall I have a serious question that has completely hypothetical answers
So here's my question. If the lost boys vampires were in the walking dead universe, could they drink the walker blood? Or would it be considered dead blood and be harmful? Can the vampires be turned or would the blood just have strange effects? What would happen if they got bit? Would vampire blood instead have an effect on the walkers? Or would the walkers ignore them cause the boys are technically dead? I need to know
I need to know this

So I've been trying to come up with plot ideas, and I know vampires have to be invited into a house or gathering. But like, can you? Take the invite back? What if the reader invited a vampire inside like 10 years ago and the vampire comes back? Could he have like, replaced the door? Done some spells or rituals? Or just torn down that door and made a new one? Or is the vampire just forever allowed to come and go at will?
random thoughts about vampires:
do vampires suffer from mental and chronic illness ONLY because the human was suffering with those things prior to turning or can these ailments occur post transition?
how do vampire bodies really work. like obviously they drink blood because they aren’t producing any. but like what about chemicals and brain function and hormone balancing. especially as a female vampire. OH!! ok so obviously the female reproductive system affects a lot about women’s health and emotions, so if you were of menstruating age and had a period cycle when turned and it just stopped do you think their hormones would be unbalanced in the same way that having a hysterectomy and the absence of a uterus and period can leave a woman in need of certain hormonal supplements.
maybe female vampires have to be extra particular about who they feed from. like if a woman had pcos and was turned then she might not want to feed from men or other people with pcos and unbalanced hormones because the excess testosterone and progesterone could cause a bad flare up
any vampire dietitians and women’s health experts that find this in 10 years plz share your thoughts
Ok question! I kind of feel like Asher would ask this, so I’m conflicted about asking it. Could they make a canopy tent made of blackout material with an awning also made of blackout material leading from the door to the tent and the vampires can go outside? They can’t feel the sun, but they could possibly feel some warmth coming from outside.
… I should sleep.
