I finally had my wisdom teeth removed last week and I've realized I don't think I like pudding.
I'm just pudding up with it

daily affirmations:
i do not have dry socket
i do not have dry socket
i do not have dry socket
it’s been longer than they say and most of the numbing has worn off but not half my lip/chin. It’s super uncomfortable and I hate it. I know it’s very very unlikely (especially given as they explicitly said there were no major nerves anywhere near my wisdom teeth) but I’m freaking out really bad about this being permanent. I suspect that’s partially because chronic illness stuff has made me paranoid. Ugh. I’m having a hard time.
Personal rant -
Wanting to write myself a self indulgent xreader sick fic re wisdom tooth extraction but too tired to function at all.
I thought I'd spend this week off work getting some creative projects done but mostly all I've been doing is sleeping and moping. Couldn't even play my PlayStation for long today. Maybe it's the meds.
Its day 5 and the swelling has gone down a lot, so I no longer look like a chipmunk but I do look like I'm developing jaundice on account of the big yellow bruises that have developed along my jaw.
The overall ache from the surgery isn't as bad as I thought it would be, but my stitches still haven't healed and they sting like a bitch. If you've ever had a really bad canker sore in the most inconvenient spot, that's a lot like what the unhealed stitches feel like. Plus they're staring to itch a little! They're close to the throat so swallowing anything is a nightmare, so I've been consuming as little as possible, but then come the 2am hunger pangs...
Most people are starting to feel a lot better by day 4 but of course I'm a special case. Oh, and I think I have nerve damage because half of my tongue is still numb. That could potentially take up to 6 months to heal...
All in all, the procedure itself wasn't as scary as I thought it would be (went under general anaesthesia) but not being able to eat or drink properly is about as much of a pain in the ass as I thought it would be.
Wish I could fast forward on this part of my life but alas, I suppose this is one of the many trials of being an adult.
Anyway time for a nap. If you read this far, you're a real one. 🤙
Edit: It might be nothing to do with the stitches, my mouth seems to be riddled with ulcers wtf. But the biggest pain is around an incision site.
Super easy, super filling, wisdom-teeth-extraction friendly meal (contains dairy and eggs)
A packet or box of instant mashed potatoes
Eggs
Milk
Cheese
butter
Prepare the instant mashed potatoes according to packet/box directions, or failing that, stir them into hot water with butter until you get the right consistency.
2. Butter a pan really well, and dump the prepared mashed potatoes in, then top with your favorite cheese, and heat until the cheese is completely melted and incorporated into the potatoes.
3. If you don't mind washing another container, you can mix/beat/wisk eggs and a splash of milk together in a cup until its uniform and light, or to save on washing, crack eggs directly into pan, add splash of milk, and stir everything together until its all incorporated smoothly with the potatoes, with no big pieces or chunks from the eggs.
4. Using your spatula, spread the mashed potato mixture out relatively flat for a few moments, fold it and spread it again, and do that until everything is cooked through .
scrape into a bowl, and serve! If you got your wisdom teeth out, make sure you let it cool til its just warm, as hot food can cause more blood flow to increase in your mouth, and that can cause your extraction sites to bleed more if they haven't clotted yet!
The final dish will be light and fluffy and easy to eat with a spoon with minimal chewing if you got the eggs incorporated quick enough.
If you wanted to do a sweet twist, you could *probably* turn this into a more dessert-like dish by omitting the cheese (or using something with a neutral flavor), making sure you're using unflavored instant potatoes (or maybe instant sweet potatoes, which I've seen some places), and then adding cinnamon and sugar!
Well today’s the day
In just a few short hours I will be having my wisdom teeth removed.
I am writing this as I need to inform those I’m writing with that I will be unavailable for several hours, until I’m fully recovered from the anesthesia.
I also would like to tell @kittenfangirl20 that if I don’t survive the surgery you need to do me one single request.
Find Ray Kroc’s grave and desecrate it in the worst way imaginable.
You can even get your cat’s litter and rub it all over.
And find his whore’s grave too and spit on it
I had my wisdom teeth removed. I was high off anesthetics. Here are some screenshots I messaged to my friend group GC about 5 minutes after waking up. Enjoy.
THEY'RE OUT, PIC UNDER THE CUT
beware, some blood, real human teeth
