Life has been just a little hectic lately.
I've been working as much as possible to get some financial strain out of the way. I'm up at 4am on this lovely Saturday so I can get some OT in.
I haven't been doing much in the way of workouts aside from trying to walk more. But, the fitness center at work is hosting a volleyball tournament so I'm hoping that pulls me back in for conditioning or practice! I promised myself all summer that when fall was here I would be more active. Let's get going! The mornings in Phoenix are in the high 60's & that's my favorite workout weather. Tomorrow morning I will be hiking.
I had to go to the ER earlier this week due to an allergic reaction.
Last Sunday I went to urgent care because I had a huge bug bite and some smaller ones, but there was swelling. I was very itchy and not feeling great. The bug bite on the back of my leg was hot to the touch & coming from a medical household I know that's not good. The nurse at urgent care was rude and really did nothing for me. After asking several times she prescribed an antibiotic.
I was taking that and the swelling in my leg went down, but then I had a big hive show up on my arm on Wednesday and my boss told me to go to the ER to make sure it wasn't serious. The PA I worked with gave me some steroids mixed with antibiotics & some Benadryl. That seems to be working for the most part. I still have random hives that show up out of nowhere but they're not really itchy.
I have an allergy appointment with my primary care doctor later this month. We did some blood work last month & he said my allergies are some of the worst he's seen so at least I'll be on a regimen soon to keep this crap to a minimum.
I am no stranger her to allergies, but usually my allergies surround pollen and pet dander: sneezing, itchy nose and throat. Never hives. Except for when I'm in cold water. I get a bunch of little hives on my skin. But they go away as soon as my skin heats up again.
I think that's all I will bombard you guys with for today. I'll post some smaller updates throughout the day so I don't have one a mile long 😂
So basically this is what the bite looked like last Saturday night and the photo below is what it looked like on so say. My ankle was swollen as shit too. I don't really have swelling anymore other than a hive on my leg and backside. I hope these clear up soon!
