Never was there a tale of more woe than that of Juliet and her Romeo
Never was there a tale of more strife than that of Macbeth and his stabby knife
Never was there a tale of more sad than that of Hamlet and his spooky dad

“Tom moving on from Trixie Franklin to Barbara was definitely not easy for a lot of people to take because Tom and Trixie were such an iconic couple, so it was really sad,” admits Charlotte. “That whole drama was so difficult last year; that was the real juicy bit, not the engagement. Female friendships are so important – friendship is for life, you never know if a relationship is.

Books are not about passing time. They’re about other lives. Other worlds. Far from wanting time to pass, one just wishes one had more of it.

How do you think Austen's characters would feel about memes? Darcy, Lizzy, Emma, Tilney or others?
Darcy: wouldn’t always understand them, but would chuckle quietly once the joke was explained. Might try to replicate/use them and 50/50 would either get it spot-on or else fail entirely.Elizabeth: gets them right away, sometimes participates with clever variations.Emma: feels they’re a bit silly, trying to steer Harriet away from them.Mr. Knightley: doesn’t often get the jokes, himself, but sees no harm in themTilney: loves a good “me, an intellectual” and “I am forcibly removed from __“Catherine: laughs until she snorts/cries at some of them, doesn’t always understand others, but laughs heartily once Henry has explained them to her, whether she finds it funny or not, simply because she wants him to think she understood and appreciated itAnne & Wentworth: share a smile over the same ones, now and then–biggest inside-jokers of ALL Austen couplesElinor: likes Socially Awkward Penguin as it reminds her of EdwardMarianne: earnest aesthetic blogger, doesn’t think much of memesFanny Price: just IS Socially Awkward Penguin
The poor, weary woman, broken in spirit, and half frantic with the bitterness of her disappointment, receiving on her knees the banal gallantries of her deadly enemy.
I just think it’s funny that Marguerite has been captured and thinks she’s going to die but is more irritated that Chauvelin is so dull and unoriginal in how he greets her. Like “ugh can you just guillotine me already? This is boring" (via istoledabowl)
kinda disappointed that i’m not already a reclusive beekeeping novelist who lives in a cottage in the french countryside, only interacting with other people when i call my annoyed editor and sell honey and honey-related products to local villagers
I was lost. But now I’m found
If anyone’s wondering, use Ivanka’s demonic story of making their workers dig for change while the wealthy were left alone as an analogy of how her father is going to run to the country.
INSPIRING.

Kids born between 1995 and 1998 are interesting because they fall somewhere between Gen X and Millenials cause they grew up on the tail end of left over 90s stuff but also were right there at the beginning of the 2000s and all that tech and innovation. They don’t really identify with, like, Nirvana being the voice of their generation, but they still hold onto the 90s nostalgia and remember a time before widespread Internet and dial up. 9/11 is like a distant memory but the ramifications are just an accepted part of life. They remember a time before iPhones and the economic collapse but much of the pop culture is too old for them. They’re an interesting transition group of kids that don’t really fit perfectly into either group. I just think that’s really interesting.
