So, Rose is supposed to be ginger like a typical Weasley. She’s supposed to be the child of Ron and Hermione.. Hermione would be at least mixed to have the recessive ginger gene (and lighter than the actress pictured above). Rose would most likely be lighter as well, not necessarily white, but ginger.

Hermione cannot be black based on the description of her child with Ron.. The likelihood of their child being this dark is highly improbable.

Please note that the specimen on your left isn’t just lacking in understanding of genetics, they’re also a racist wearing the thin façade of a “ginger activist.” Notice how the thin veil over the racism totally slips away when you realize they didn’t notice that Ron, too, is not a ginger, revealing "the problem" was really just the dark skinned Black folks all along.

Let’s keep the fandom racism tour moving. Our next exhibit is called “But historical accuracy!”

When I was in high school, I took a science course and the teacher was amazing. & most of the elderly white teachers were often biased and racist but she sought out to tell the truth about science and biology…especially genetics. It opened my eyes and debunked a lot of stereotypes white supremacy pushes about race and science.

I’m going to go back to @kweyolgoddess post and commentary:

1. You can be dark skin and carry a recessive gene. :)

2. Recessive genes are mutations. These mutations were a result of factors such as climate change, diet, health issues, abnormality with a gene, etc. etc.

3. Recessive genes can skip generations

4. You can be dark skin and be mixed

5. Red hair, just like Blonde Hair isn’t exclusively a production of “White people”. In fact, you can find many non-mixed Africans and other People of Color who naturally have red and blonde hair.

6. When a dark skinned person has a baby with a much lighter skinned person, their children’s skin tone will range anywhere from dark to light. To be honest, you can never tell what a mixed child will look like because the possibilities are endless. Not all mixed children are light skinned. Not only are your claims racist and extremely anti-black but sadly ignorant. You are completely erasing the existence of dark skinned mixed children.

7. Hermione can in fact be black based on the description of her child with Ron.

8. I advise you take a course or at least read a little about genetics.

Below I have added a possible punnett square for both Ron and Hermione

Ron has the MC1R gene (rr)

 Hermione has a dominant gene for Black/Brown hair and a recessive gene for Red hair (Br)

According to the square, there is a 50% chance that their children will have red hair.

So to clear things up, Rose in the photo has the dominant gene for Black/Brown hair but carries the recessive MC1R gene for Red hair (Br). & depending on the genes from her future partner, her child could have red hair. :)
