We’re The A Collective, but we also collectively go by Paradox and Anomaly. We use plural he/they/it and neos. Do not use she/her(-based) pronouns nor traditionally feminine terms (girl, gurl, woman, miss, queen, etc.) on us.

Use “headmate” to refer to the members of our collective. Use “collective” to refer to all of us, since we call our sidesystems “systems” for short.

Why is [x] loving [x] the default for [x] attracted to [x] orientations?

Why is xLx/xlx the default shorthand?

Attraction and love are used like they're interchangeable. I want to point out how off that is.

If I, as a loveless individual, want to specify both what gender(s) I am attracted to and my own gender, what terms do I use? What shorthand do I use?

Should I recoin every xLx term/flag our collective wants to use to be loveless-inclusive? Should we just ignore the "love" definition?

ANB/ANAB - Assigned Nunya Business

A term for anyone who prefers to keep their sex undisclosed or anonymous. They may be willing to disclose their sex or characteristics to certain people like sexual partners and medical professionals, but not to others.

ANAB can be used by anyone including cisgender, transgender, non-binary, and intersex individuals. It can also be used as a rebellious statement against the political obsession with biological sex.

ANAB individuals may or may not be AGABless. ANAB people don't necessarily reject their sex; they just prefer to keep it private.

ANAB can be considered a synonym for A?AB. ANAB is just a more playful way of saying the same thing, and it can also be used rebelliously regardless of one's personal alignment with it.

A person may be ANAB for many reasons including:

• Currently seeing their sex as irrelevant

• Having grown up with their sex being irrelevant

• Dysphoria about their sex

• Being stealth trans

• Being comfortably androgynous and preferring being unidentifiable

• Being intersex, assigned at birth or later in life

• Being acespec and/or sex-averse, and therefore not expecting to reveal their sex to anyone

• Having trauma around sex disclosure

• Just being uncomfortable with the idea of people knowing about their sex and/or genitalia

• Just enjoying being mysterious

The 2026 Gender Census is now open!

The 13th annual international gender census, collecting information about the language we use to refer to ourselves and each other, is now open until 13th August 2026.

It’s short and easy, for most participants it takes 5 minutes or less.

After the survey is closed I’ll process the results and publish a spreadsheet of the data and a report summarising the main findings. Then anyone can use them for academic or business purposes, self-advocacy, tracking the popularity of language over time, and just feeling like we’re part of a huge and diverse community.

It was a huge milestone of scientific and technological advancement. (Plus, at the time, politically significant). Humanity went to space! We set foot on a celestial body that was not earth for the first time in human history! That’s a big deal! I’ve never thought about it before but now that I have, it’s ridiculous to me that that’s not part of our everyday lives and the public consciousness anymore. Why don’t we have a public holiday and a family barbecue about it. Why have I never seen the original broadcast of the moon landing? It should be all over the news every year!
