Alright Guys. It’s time to speak up about this. The boys are working themselves so hard to put stuff out there for us. DO NOT GET ME WRONG, I love getting something new all the time. But these boys are still young. They need sleep. They need family time. They need a break. But they refuse to take some time off to relax. I realize that they are booked for now. But once all their bookings are done my only hope is that they take some time off. Rest. Relax. Have some time with their families.I hate seeing the boys constantly tired. I hate seeing the boys get sick from lack of sleep leading to a weak immune system. They are still teenagers/extremely young adults. They need their free time. I get that this is their dream. I get that they want to keep putting stuff out. But they are working themselves almost past the limit. I love the boys with everything I have. Seeing them tired and sick makes me feel bad. They shouldn’t have to feel the need to constantly work to please us. And they don’t. I want these boys happy and healthy.

Can we try to get this to the boys? Show them that they don’t have to overwork themselves to make us limelights happy?

Thinking about Steve Harrington and why I really love his redemption arc, and I think one of the big things is that, like… he doesn’t really get anything out of it? He gets his ass kicked in every season. His girlfriend dumps him (after cheating on him, depending on how you interpret everything that went down with Nancy and Jonathan). He went from the being the most popular guy in the school to a loser, a joke. His social circle consists of middle school students. The next girl he falls for turns out to be a lesbian. He couldn’t get into college and is working a shitty minimum wage job in an embarrassing uniform. In his words, he makes three bucks an hour and he has no future.

Like, he’s never rewarded by the narrative for becoming a good person, and he’s never given any Freudian excuses for how much of a dick he was through most of S1. He just realized that he was being shitty and decided to do better. I appreciate that.
