Do you have any cool facts about space? Especially stars. Also do you know stuff about blue stars? I know they are blue because they are hot, but why are they hotter than our sun?

Ooh!!! Blue stars! The Fast and the Furious of stars.

These puppies are massive, hot and they burn up fast. They are bigger (at least 3 times more massive) than our main sequence star (known as a yellow dwarf star), and are burning through their fuel much faster.

The most massive blue star is R136a1, at 300 times the mass of our Sun. It's located in the Tarantula Nebula and is a blue giant.

However, R136a1 is not the largest star we've seen.

That honour goes to UY Scuti, with a size approximately 1700 times that of our Sun. It could fit about 5 billion of our Suns into it.

Located in the constellation Scutum, UY Scuti is a hypergiant star and is a rarity.

Other contenders are WOH G64, Westerlund 1-26, NML Cygni, KY Cygni and VY Canis Majoris.
