Hello friends! This is my writing blog (I thought it was about time to make one). I currently write for both the Destiny and Dream SMP fandoms so that's what you should expect to find here

Jesse awoke in the early hours of the morning to Rae standing over them. The Warlock was reaching toward them like she was about to touch their shoulder, but pulled back when they sat up. “Don’t tell me you actually slept in that thing,” she said, raising her eyebrow judgmentally. They reached up, touching their helmet self-consciously. It wasn’t an intentional decision — all the training yesterday had worn them out to the point that once they’d gotten back to the house, all they could bring themself to do was yank off their boots before collapsing on the bed. Looking back, it wasn’t the best choice; their face had been uncomfortably mashed against the inside, and it took them sitting up to peel free. But then again, if they’d taken it off, Rae would have seen them without it — an idea they still weren’t comfortable with.

Protagonist now remembers key facts about important people. He no longer develops convenient amnesia between cutscenes.

Protagonist now has a cooldown on certain adverbs. Adverbs have been buffed by 30% to compensate.

Developer note: Adverbs are important to writing but they are sometimes overused. This change keeps adverbs relevant while encouraging the use of adjectives and verbs.

The horse now has a name.

Deuteragonist snark power has been increased to 150, up from 75.

Characters now no longer reference the previous version’s climate and have been updated to react appropriately to the currently set season.

Solved a glitch where supernumerary limbs would sometimes emerge during complex physical interactions.

Should no longer display “[insertnamehere]” during conversations and narration. All of such occurrances have been replaced with the appropriate tags.

Conversation continuity has been improved. Characters will no longer inappropriately respond with lines from previous iterations of the narrative.

All references to “Event A” have been purged to reflect changes in narrative structure.

Now with more thematically-consistent swearing.

Back-to-back repeated words that resulted from sentence rearranging or start/stop editing have been cleared.

Paragraphs which contained two or more instances of the same adjective have had their adjectives updated to accurately reflect a player’s vocabulary inventory.

Minor time traveling issues have been resolved, all characters should now exist in the same tense.

Punctuation has been improved. Commas have been reduced by half.

Characters sighing has been reduced by 30%.

Characters looking at things or people during conversations has been reduced by 40%. To make up for this, characters thinking about the conversation has been boosted and descriptive narrative has been added.

Title has been applied.

The most interesting question you can ask about any character is not what do they want. it's what do they believe they deserve. because those two things are almost never the same and the gap between them is where your entire story lives. a person can want love completely and believe they don't deserve it and that belief will destroy every good thing that comes toward them in ways they won't even notice they're doing. write the gap. the gap is the character.

If someone were to tell Jim that he would one day be meeting up with two Guardians for shooting practice in a back-alley, kitbashed shooting range, he would… Well, he wasn’t sure what he would say, but he knew he wouldn’t believe it. And yet, that was where he and Nathan currently were: standing in yet another one of the Praxic Order’s worryingly numerous City properties — a suspiciously empty abandoned lot in Ridge District. Or rather, not entirely empty, considering it looked like the nearby residents had been using it to dump assorted junk. Junk that Aunor Mahal had scowled at with the approximate force of a thousand suns when she noticed its presence, only to grudgingly concede to Windrunner’s suggestion of using it for target practice.

Obsessed with characters who portray themselves as worse than they are. Who are lying to everyone including themselves about it. People generally assume if someone's lying about themselves they're trying to look better but sometimes they're trying to look worse. They attribute agency to where they had none, add intent to accidents, try to convince everyone that this is something they did instead of something that happened to them.
