if youre in the US (especially the northeast + michigan) i would avoid bagged salads/greens and generally wash your produce very thoroughly unless you want the diarrhea parasite

this is not life-threatening, but also who wants weeks of diarrhea and a fucking parasite in them lol. if you suspect you've already had this and it's passed, i would see a doctor. you might need an antiparasitic anyway. if you're actively sick, see a doctor and they might be able to prescribe medication to help you get over it faster.

try to avoid eating raw vegetables, scrub fruit with a produce brush and rinse thoroughly with water. again, don't bother with premade greens or bagged salads. if you buy lettuce, remove the outer 2-3 layers of leaves.

there are UNVERIFIED rumors that the greens have been linked to a company that sources to taco bell. some locations have been actively pulling fresh ingredients like lettuce, avocado, and pico de gallo to mitigate the threat, so i would avoid any products from them just in case. considering how vast supply chains are, i'd be wary of any fast food greens in general for now.

also note this is a PARASITIC infection. most diarrhea-causing pathogens you expect to contaminate your greens are bacteria (e.g. e. coli and salmonella), which are a different domain of organism altogether. cyclospora is a protozoan, which is bigger and more complicated than a bacteria (for reference, malaria is also caused by a protozoan). bacterial diarrhea can be dangerous, but you might also expect to weather it and survive unscathed. do NOT fuck with PARASITIC contamination. you should be scared of this one!

Another note: YOU CAN'T WASH IT OFF!

Only high temperatures will kill cyclospora. It resides in what is like a shell, which is highly resistant to water and most cleaning chemicals. The substance it uses to cling to food is so strong we don't even fully know what its limits are. It may be best to avoid fruits and veggies you can't cook. Scrubbing only works if done hard enough and on foods with no hiding places (Like cucumbers and grapes). Peeling the skin off is your best bet at avoiding it however, scrubbing is not guaranteed.

The killers are trying to fix the damages they've caused and it seems to work little by little, but for the survivor camp, it's difficult to believe there isn't at least one who regrets telling those lies in the first place...

Are you referring to My Own Exit Gate instead of Saddest Journey, by any chance? I've been sitting, thinking... What'd the survivors lie about in MSJ?? But I'm fairly certain you meant Exit Gate. I apologize if I'm wrong!

So the survivors in Exit Gate don't really see the reader as anything more than a walking casualty/problem that they don't wanna admit to creating. From the beginning, they only saw the reader as a pawn that they could use to escape trials and win sympathy. A sad truth in life is that nobody likes to take responsibility for their actions. I do plan on having some survivors awkwardly help the reader during trials, but that's about it. Most of the comfort comes from the killers. And while some survivors do feel guilty for their behavior, there are other survivors who don't want to deal with the consequences of their actions.

Just remember what Dwight and Claudette said in chapter 2!

"If you think about it, Evan, (y/n) actually could kill herself and everything would be fine... It's what she wants after all."

"Yeah, that's right," Dwight agreed out of realization, "The Entity wasn't even summoned to punish her, so that means she could-"

hiiiii!! i just wanted to first say that if you can't/don't want to answer this or if it isn't a fitting ao3 question to ask you can ignore this im sorry

i have been wanting to write about a ship i enjoy that is quite rare in my opinion, because i haven't been able to find any works of it so far.. the thing i'm struggling with is that, after one of my friends got mad at me for shipping them (because "it isnt a valid ship because x and y don't like eachother"), i began wondering if it actually wasn't a good ship. This lead to me questioning if i actually had any reason to ship them in the first place or if i was just shipping them to ship them. (if that makes sense)

obviously i still really like the ship, but it left me puzzled, because i've seen a lot of people complain about people just shipping characters mindlessly and i couldn't quite tell if it was a big deal or not..

anon, I say this with respect, no one needs a reason to ship any characters. shipping fictional characters is not a thesis or a scientific paper. it's all about fun and letting one's imaginary run wild. if your heart says these characters are in love then they are in love. even if they hate each other in canon. even if they have never interacted or met in canon. shipping and fanfics have never been about "strictly following canon".

again, canon is only a suggestion. how much of it a fan will follow, if any, is entirely up to them.

not to mention... shipping characters who hate each other and are enemies is literally one of the most common ways characters get shipped together. my ship is in-ho and gi-hun from squid game. they are archenemies in canon. in-ho killed gi-hun's best friend in canon and I'm sure gi-hun fantasizes about killing in-ho. actually I’m sure they both fantasize about killing each other. and the ship is the most popular squid game ship, so popular that netflix, the director and the actors acknowledge it.

what I'm saying is: people ship characters who try to kill each other and are enemies all the time. that's what makes a ship hot.

regardless, if a ship makes you happy, then that is a valid reason for you to ship it.

I honesty cannot imagine a sane adult getting mad at someone else for… shipping fictional characters together. like… if you (general you) don’t like a ship then just… don’t engage with the ship? it’s literally none of your business which characters people ship anyway. my friends have ships I don’t vibe with. and I just mind my own business and let them do what they want. shipping and fandom space as a whole is about one’s own enjoyment. it’s not about “having to follow canon” or “having to have proper reasoning before shipping characters”.

if your friend has a problem with this, show them “the frozen rise of the brave tangled dragons” ship from 2013 where jack froze (rise of the guardians), rapunzel (tangled), elsa (frozen), princess merida (brave) and hiccup (how to train your dragon) are shipped together and they have an orgy.
