you know those studies showing that cursing helps with pain tolerance or whatever. that’s how i feel about making my weird little noises to get through my basic daily activities. sometimes you just have to go hggblaaaah for a minute so you can find the strength within yourself to get up or wash the dishes or send an email. mmmnneh. urgh. the torments are unending but you can always make some little sounds about it.

I need to stop replying to “how do you make friends in your 30s?” threads because all my answers boil down to “you have to want to know people instead of have friends” and I don’t think people wanna hear that
u guys omfg can we try feminism again. can we breathe life back into feminism's wounded and perishing body like OMFG she's dying...
on the one hand there are many aspects of academia that should be criticized but on the other hand i’m concerned about the rise of anti-intellectualism as a tool of fascism
Hey yo what the fuck does this say in English? Because if you can’t explain in layman’s terms you’re not doing a good job of getting your point across to everyone.
hey man i think you might just be dumb
certified iconic post
someone on reddit shared texts of her and her husband's exclusive english dialect and it's beautiful
a linguist is analyzing it
truly few things instantly put me in a bad mood more than humidity

I need my weird alone time or I will explode
and you know what? Maybe I do tag my “blorbos” in a lot of random people’s unrelated posts but I’ve never tagged a man in a post about a woman. Which is why unlike a lot of other people I’m still going to heaven
people will go onnn about how a man’s flaws makes him so nuanced and interesting and then act genuinely confused when u feel the same way about a woman…
Im enjoying the longevity of tumblrs recontextualization style of humor. a seemingly innocuous post followed by like "posts that a gnome would make" or like "are you a phone"
More from the notes:
I love this post

To the anon who was talking about being aro vs overanalyzing emotions: my take on it as someone who id's as aro comes down to the idea that all these categories, ie romantic (and platonic!) attraction are loose and are primarily useful as shorthand communication methods. It could be argued that platonic relationships are just as wishy washy--I know my relationships to different friends differ. What got me to land on aro as a fitting label then wasn't so much about analyzing and analyzing my feelings (which I had been doing my whole life at that point), but asking myself what I wanted to communicate. In my case, I'm aroallo, and wanted to communicate to people I might be interested in being intimate with that they shouldn't *expect* romantic stuff. Maybe it would happen! Maybe what they view as romantic is something I view as platonic and it works out that way! There are a lot of possibilities, but what I wanted to *communicate* is an unlikelihood or rarity to it
Of course this isn't the only way to think about it, but I wanted to offer another perspective in case it's helpful!
that is a viewpoint i haven't seen before and honestly seems useful in a practical way. i'm surprised i haven't seen anything explained like this before.
a book should be $5 a little drink should be $2 and museum access should be free and all hours
