I decided I should update this to make things just a bit more clear. Apologies this is a bit of a long one.

the kid took one look at you and latched on and something ancient in him shifts. you become the center of the campfire, the softness he circles like a starved animal and he starts to call you mama because it fits. because it's true. because he likes the way the word sounds in his mouth when you're holding the kid, soothing them, touching their hair in a way Simon doesn't know how to.

in the day, when the kid's on your hip, he's:

pass it here, mama.

let mama eat first.

listen to mama.

claiming you as his counterpart. it's family the way wolves understand family: more than blood, more than law.

and he goes still when you say his name. gives you nothing. like the word doesn't belong to him anymore. like it's someone else's, someone long dead in a world that no longer has room for that man. but when you tentatively whisper daddy, he lifts his head immediately, tugging a chain looped through his spine. eyes dark and jaw tight. a soft, low, there you go rumbling out of his chest. he doesn't just respond to it. he expects it. orbits it.

it pulls him back into his body. it's what unspools the tightness coiled along his ribs. what softens him in ways he can't admit without tearing himself open.

also makes him wildly aroused but whatever. god forbid a man likes to be acknowledged as protector and provider by a pretty soft little thing.

"I just don't understand how people could like dark fiction-" Then don't understand it. It's simply not for you. Anything under taboo, dark, and dead dove is meant for people who can handle it and be mature about it. You're allowed to not like stuff. You're allowed to feel triggered or squicked. But don't act like you're on some moral high horse because you don't explore those themes. Further more, no one owes you an explanation as to why they like those themes in the first place. You don't have to have some sort of trauma to enjoy that type of work. You can just enjoy it, zero justification. It's not real. No one's out here genuinely wanting those scenarios to actually happen, and this goes for non-yandere related things as well. Anyone who tries to act on them was going to do something anyway, and didn't know how to regulate themselves.

I hate having to bring it up constantly but Christ on a cracker it's like you went to one literature class, drew eyes on your paper rather than learn media literacy, and now think someone liking something dark, taboo, or general kink stuff is somehow a reflection of who they actually are. Brains are weird. They like to make fake scenarios constantly. The least we can do is give the ball of jelly something fun and something it can control. If your brain doesn't like it, then find something it does.

When reading fanfic keep in mind that for professional literature: 

Short story: under 7,500

Novelette: between 7,500 and 17,500

Novella: between 17,500 and 40,000

Novel: over 40,000

Fics over 40k are literally a novel written and shared for free.  If you have written a 40k+ fic, you have literally written a novel.

Not sure how common this knowledge is, but I’d like to add that if you enclose a piece of text in quotation marks, Google will search for only the exact wording of it. So if you’re lucky enough to remember an exact quote, that’s also a powerful tool. I can’t count the number of obscure tumblr posts I’ve tracked down from screenshots with just those two techniques; I’m sure it’ll work for fic too.
