Why did Mike or anyone else never ask El how she recognised Will in the photo, or how she knew he was in the UD? They already had some understanding of her abilities, enough to realise that there was no way she could have simply seen Will in the UD by chance, the only logical explanation is that she saw with her own eyes what had happened to Will. But then why didn't they ask how it happened? Why didn't she stop demogorgon? Or, if she was there, perhaps demogorgon came for her and took Will instead of her, or maybe there wasn't any demogorgon there at all. Maybe I'm projecting my own trust issues onto them, but El is far too shady, and they never even try to find out more about her or lab, perhaps not wanting to trigger her trauma, but if I were in their shoes, I'd never trust her so easily. I'd say the same goes for Will. I can understand why they don't flood him with questions since he's just a random victim who was lucky to have survived in everyone's eyes, but after s2 I wouldn't have taken my eyes off him. In s5 he's having convulsions in the background while the lights in the room are flashing wildly and nobody notices or then seems to care, when in her book Nancy was so paranoid that she investigated every case of the lights flickering, as she associated it with Vecna. And then he actually goes into Vecna mode, and everyone's like "It's totally normal, let's not bother with it". I get the feeling that those two are just playing with everyone, and the rest are either too dumb or under some kind of mind control. Also, it comes to mind how Finn once called Will manipulative. I can't remember the context, most likely he was just being a bitch, considering that Caleb gave him the side-eye, but it's an interesting moment nonetheless.
